Ford Pro™ Smart Charging Bundle is now available to California businesses, aiming to simplify the addition of electric vehicles to their fleets. This initiative includes a complimentary Ford Pro Level 2 EV charger and advanced energy management features.

Key Highlights:

  • Complimentary Ford Pro Level 2 EV charger for businesses subscribed to Ford Pro Charging software.
  • Advanced energy management features to automate demand response, reporting, and manage Low Carbon Fuel Standard carbon credits.
  • Reduction of upfront and ongoing EV charging costs for businesses.
  • Scheduling software to charge vehicles during off-peak hours, lowering utility costs.
  • Automated demand-to-grid response solution to handle high local demand events, reducing the risk of brownouts and blackouts.
  • Support for businesses in navigating California grid demand response programs and carbon credits programs.

Charging electric vehicle (EV) fleets can be complex and costly. The Ford Pro Smart Charging Bundle addresses these challenges by offering a complimentary Ford Pro Level 2 48-amp or 80-amp charger to businesses subscribed to Ford Pro Charging software. This initiative helps improve operational efficiency and reduce EV charging expenses for California businesses.

Electrification is not just about environmental benefits; it also impacts the bottom line. For example, the all-electric E-Transit™ requires no gasoline and has an estimated 48 percent lower scheduled maintenance cost compared to a gas-powered 2024 Transit®.

The new automated demand-to-grid response feature in Ford Pro’s Charging Software helps businesses by reacting to grid events, such as high local demand, by automatically pausing and resuming charging. This reduces the burden on the grid and helps prevent brownouts and blackouts, contributing to a more resilient power system. Ford Pro also assists customers in enrolling in California’s grid demand response programs and managing the Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) carbon credits program.

“California is an EV pioneer, and new regulations aim to accelerate businesses’ electric transition,” said Ted Cannis, Ford Pro CEO. “We’re here to do the heavy lifting and help companies navigate the complexities of electrification, helping them be more productive and efficient as they add EVs to their fleet. Our smart charging software helps businesses effectively manage their charging operations, including scheduled charging to avoid peak periods when electricity is in high demand at high rates and automated participation in grid events.”
