Human Horizons has marked a significant milestone in the electric vehicle (EV) sector, with its flagship model, the HiPhi Z, leading the charge in the world’s most extensive EV range test. Achieving a remarkable 522km journey under challenging cold weather conditions, the HiPhi Z has set a new standard for winter EV driving performance, showcasing its exceptional endurance and efficiency.
Organized by the Norwegian Automobile Federation and Motor magazine, the test sought to identify a reliable standard for evaluating the range and charging speed of electric vehicles. Among 23 contenders, the HiPhi Z stood out, recording a deviation of just 5.9 percent from its certified WLTP range numbers, a testament to its efficiency and reliability in real-world conditions.
The success of the HiPhi Z is largely credited to Human Horizons’ CrossLoop Efficient Thermal Management System. This advanced system, a product of the company’s pioneering thermal integration technology, combines a high-efficiency heat pump AC HVAC system with a smart E-Powertrain thermal management solution. The result is an energy-efficient, comfortable, and intelligent thermal system that outperforms its competitors, especially in cold weather.
The test’s route through the challenging Dovrefjell terrain, amid the harsh conditions brought on by storm “Ingunn,” proved to be an ideal stage for the HiPhi Z to demonstrate its capabilities. Despite encountering road closures and adverse weather, the vehicle showcased its exceptional endurance and comfort, successfully completing the 522km distance with minimal energy deviation.
Simen Zimmermann, the test driver, praised the vehicle for its comfortable cabin, noting that “It was only towards the end, the last kilometers, that it started slowing down. It glided smoothly over the mountain, passing several stopped cars from the test.”
