Humax EV Charging will launch the Humax MX PRO, a 22kW commercial EV charger built for fleets, depots, workplaces, commercial buildings and apartments, at Fleet & Mobility Live in Birmingham, UK, this week. The company says the MX PRO combines vehicle authentication, open charge point management system (CPMS) integration and an installation design meant to make large-scale deployment and later expansion simpler. The charger is scheduled to reach UK wholesalers and distributors at the end of November.
Highlights
- 22kW three-phase charging, with support for both single- and three-phase installations
- Pre-wired MX Ready backplates let sites finish electrical preparation before each charger is installed
- OCPP 1.6J support, upgradeable to OCPP 2.0.1, with existing CPMS integrations for Monta, Fuuse and Ta
- UK mainland availability from the end of November, with up to three years of manufacturer’s warranty
How Does the MX PRO Simplify Fleet Charger Deployment?
Sites can be pre-wired with the MX PRO backplate and a protective dummy cover, a configuration Humax calls MX Ready. As fleet demand grows, operators can fit more MX PRO units to the prepared backplates without additional wiring work, according to the company.
Daisy-chain connectivity cuts cabling requirements. Dynamic load balancing distributes the available power across multiple chargers.
Matthew McMullan, director, Automotive and Energy at Humax EV Charging, said, “Fleet electrification is not simply about installing more charge points. Operators require infrastructure that is straightforward to deploy today but does not restrict what they can do tomorrow. The Humax MX PRO has been designed to address the challenge of future-proofing installations and minimising infrastructure disruption.”
Vehicle Authentication and Billing
The MX PRO includes AutoCharge, which starts a session automatically when a recognized vehicle is connected. Plug & Charge with ISO 15118-2 identifies the vehicle securely, so drivers don’t need an app or an RFID card. Humax has paired ISO 15118 vehicle identification with fleet reimbursement before, in its MX7 integration with Rightcharge.
A MID-certified meter supports billing and cost recovery, the company says. A built-in 4.3-inch LCD shows charging information and a digital QR code.
Open CPMS Integration and Connectivity
McMullan continued, “Furthermore, the Humax MX PRO brings a range of fleet-focused technologies into a single platform. One of the most important aspects is our agnostic approach to CPMS. We are already integrated with Monta, Fuuse and Ta, and are open to integrating with other CPMS providers.”
The charger has a built-in 4G eSIM, so operators can change network providers without swapping physical SIM cards at each unit. It supports OCPP 1.6J and can be upgraded to OCPP 2.0.1. Humax says a split-data architecture keeps its diagnostics and maintenance connection active even when an operator runs a third-party CPMS.
“Fleet operators increasingly look for the freedom to choose the software ecosystem that works for their business, without losing access to specialist hardware support,” McMullan said. “Our approach with the MX PRO is open by design. It gives operators flexibility at the CPMS level while allowing Humax to remain connected to the hardware for diagnostics and maintenance.”

Pricing and Availability
The MX PRO is scheduled to go on sale at the end of November through wholesalers and distributors across the UK, and it will be sold on the UK mainland only. Each model in the MX range comes with up to three years of manufacturer’s warranty, plus support from Humax’s approved installation and customer service network. Humax did not disclose pricing.
The company has deployed more than 18,000 EV chargers in South Korea across residential and commercial settings. Humax distributes in the UK through partners such as Kelvelec.
McMullan said, “The Humax MX PRO brings together what we have learned from operating at scale with what UK fleet customers are asking for: simpler installation, easier expansion, open integration and hardware that is ready for the next generation of connected charging. Fleet & Mobility Live is the ideal place for us to introduce that proposition directly to the fleet industry.”
