Hyundai Drives Innovation with New R&D Center in Germany

Hyundai Motor Europe Technical Center (HMETC) has broken ground on a new state-of-the-art research and development (R&D) center in Germany, reflecting their commitment to innovation, sustainability, and job creation.

Located in the heart of Germany’s Rhine-Main Metropolitan Region, the new 25,000-square-meter facility will more than double HMETC’s existing space, providing a dynamic work environment for employees and showcasing their dedication to environmental responsibility.

Energy-efficient design and advanced renewable energy systems will be integrated throughout the facility, aligning with the Group’s mission to cut carbon emissions and promote zero-emission solutions.

HMETC is at the forefront of developing cutting-edge electric vehicles (EVs) that cater to the preferences of European customers. The new labs will focus on advanced technological innovations such as:

  • Advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS)
  • Next-generation infotainment functions
  • Electrification technologies

The new research center features:

  • The Group’s largest 4W NVH Dyno capable of measuring a complete vehicle lineup on one platform.
  • Two Chassis Dynos and a Powertrain Dyno to enhance advanced testing capabilities.

This major investment in R&D will allow Hyundai to:
