Hyundai Motor Company has introduced its latest concept car, INSTEROID, blending gaming influences with sporty design to captivate drivers. Unveiled at the ‘Night Garage Party’ in Seoul, this visionary vehicle reimagines the popular INSTER electric SUV as a bold, immersive experience. Based on the globally successful INSTER, which launched in 2024, INSTEROID aims to push automotive boundaries with its funky aesthetics, eco-conscious materials, and interactive features. Following its debut, the concept car will be displayed at the Seoul Mobility Show from April 3 to April 13, offering the public a closer look at Hyundai’s innovative approach to electric vehicle (EV) design.

Developed by Hyundai’s European design team, INSTEROID merges the INSTER’s charismatic appeal with a muscular, gaming-inspired twist. Simon Loasby, Head of Hyundai Design Center, described it as “a celebration of pure fun,” emphasizing its bold visuals and emotional resonance. The concept car builds on the INSTER’s success, a finalist for the 2025 World Car of the Year, and follows the rugged INSTER CROSS variant unveiled in 2024. With its lightweight lattice structures and striking white-and-orange exterior, INSTEROID redefines sporty EVs while sparking interest in the production model.
The debut event at Peaches D8NE in Seoul featured interactive games, including a time attack challenge where players evolve the INSTER into INSTEROID. Hyundai also teased the upcoming INSTEROID Kart for ‘Kartrider Rush+,’ reflecting its growing gaming partnerships. As Hyundai expands the INSTER lineup globally in 2025, INSTEROID serves as a halo model, enhancing the brand’s image and engaging younger audiences through creativity and innovation.
