Powertrain and Battery Options

The ID. Cross offers three power configurations. Buyers can choose between 85 kW, 99 kW, and 155 kW output levels. Two battery sizes are available: 37 kWh and 52 kWh (net).

This range of options targets different driving profiles. The smaller battery suits predominantly urban commuters. Meanwhile, the larger pack accommodates regular longer-distance travel.

Charging Capability

DC fast charging is available across the lineup. The 37 kWh battery supports charging speeds up to 90 kW. With the 52 kWh battery, charging rates reach 105 kW.

Design and Interior

The exterior introduces Volkswagen’s “Pure Positive” design language. It features clean lines and balanced proportions. The overall look is understated yet confident, according to Volkswagen.

Inside, the cabin emphasizes simplicity and material quality. Volkswagen said the materials and build quality are oriented toward higher vehicle segments. Large-format displays and intuitive physical controls complement the five-seat layout.

Market Positioning

Volkswagen is positioning the ID. Cross as an accessible entry point to electric mobility. The compact dimensions and sub-€28,000 starting price target buyers seeking practical EV ownership. However, the model remains a near-production concept and is not yet available for sale.
