These agreements mark significant progress in the transition toward sustainable public transport. The deals include orders for 31 hydrogen buses and 20 battery electric buses, scheduled for delivery by 2025. The contracts further solidify IVECO BUS’s reputation in providing innovative, eco-friendly mobility solutions.
Key Highlights:
- New Contracts: IVECO BUS has secured three major contracts in France for electric and hydrogen-powered buses.
- Cannes Lérins Urban Community: Ordered 12 hydrogen fuel cell buses, set to complement their existing fleet of 35 battery electric buses.
- Lorient Agglomération: Contracted 19 hydrogen buses, with five expected to be delivered in the second half of 2025.
- Grand Reims Mobilités: Ordered 20 battery electric buses, with an option for nine more. These will begin operations in autumn 2025.
The hydrogen buses for Cannes and Lorient are equipped with advanced fuel cell systems, a result of Iveco Group’s collaboration with Hyundai Motor Company. This partnership, initiated in 2022, utilizes HTWO’s cutting-edge hydrogen technology alongside FPT Industrial’s battery systems. The battery electric buses for Reims are part of a well-established range already widely adopted across Europe, with over 3,000 units ordered.
Domenico Nucera, President of the Bus Business Unit at Iveco Group, emphasized IVECO BUS’s commitment to sustainable transport: “These projects underscore IVECO BUS’s expertise in sustainable mobility, covering all ranges and technologies for low- to zero-emission vehicles.”
With these contracts, IVECO BUS reinforces its leadership in the French market, further advancing its mission to offer high-performance, environmentally-friendly mobility solutions.
