KGM Motors UK has announced the launch of the all-new Torres Hybrid, expanding its award-winning SUV lineup. This new model, which completes the Torres family alongside the petrol and all-electric EVX versions, integrates authentic SUV styling with an advanced hybrid powertrain co-developed with BYD.

Advanced Hybrid Powertrain
The Torres Hybrid is powered by a sophisticated Dual Tech Hybrid System developed in collaboration with BYD. This full hybrid system combines a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine with in-series dual motors, managed by a 6-speed automatic e-DHT transmission. The powertrain supports nine different driving modes, such as EV mode, HEV mode (series-parallel), and engine drive mode, to deliver a smooth, quiet, and versatile driving experience. In city environments, the vehicle operates in EV mode up to 95% of the time. On the highway, it can achieve all-electric driving at speeds up to 62 mph, supported by a three-level regenerative braking system.
Design and Styling
The exterior design of the Torres Hybrid projects strength and confidence through its bold proportions and muscular lines. Key features include a vertical grille, an integrated skid-plate bumper, and distinctive LED headlights. The vehicle’s robust profile is enhanced by 20-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and angular wheel arches. At the rear, a hexagonal design element reinforces its tough, authentic SUV character.
Inside, the cabin follows a “slim and wide” design philosophy, creating a spacious and ergonomic environment. A panoramic widescreen display integrates a 12.3-inch digital cluster and a 12.3-inch infotainment system, which supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and TomTom Navigation.
Interior Technology and Practicality
The Torres Hybrid is equipped with numerous premium features for comfort and convenience. Standard amenities in the K40 trim include heated and ventilated leather front seats with eight-way power adjustment, heated and reclining rear seats, dual-zone climate control, and 32-color ambient lighting.
Practicality is a core strength, with clever storage solutions like a floating center console and a headrest hanger. The vehicle boasts a best-in-class luggage capacity that expands to 1,662 liters, making it adaptable for both daily errands and adventures.
Performance and Safety
The hybrid system achieves an efficiency of 46.1 mpg (WLTP) with CO₂ emissions of just 139g/km. The Torres Hybrid also has a towing capacity of 1.3 tonnes, supported by Trailer Stability Assist (TSA), and a waterproof chassis allowing for safe submersion up to 300mm.
Safety is prioritized with a structure composed of 78% high-tensile steel and eight standard airbags. The advanced driver-assistance systems include Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Keeping Assist, Rear Blind Spot-detection, and Rear Cross Traffic Warning.

The all-new KGM Torres Hybrid is priced at £35,995 and comes with KGM’s 5-year / 100,000-mile warranty. It is available in five colors: Space Black, Dandy Blue, Iron Silver, Grand White, and Forest Green.
