Kia EV9 Owners Get 1,000 kWh of Free Charging

Kia America and Electrify America expand their charging agreement to include 1,000 kWh of complimentary charging for the all-electric 2024 Kia EV9.

Building on their previous partnership for the EV6 GT, Kia and Electrify America are providing even more support for electric vehicle adoption. The new agreement allows EV9 owners to access free charging at any Electrify America station across the country.

This marks the third Kia model to receive complimentary Electrify America charging, following the Niro and EV6. “Our agreement with Kia America highlights our commitment to a more accessible future for electric vehicle transportation,” said Robert Barrosa, president and CEO of Electrify America.

The EV9 is Kia’s first all-electric three-row SUV, offering two powertrain options. The standard configuration features a 76.1-kWh battery with a rear-wheel-drive motor, while the optional 99.8-kWh battery offers up to 304 miles of range and can be paired with either a single or dual-motor configuration.

With a maximum DC charging rate of 236 kW, the EV9 supports fast charging at compatible stations, including those on the Electrify America network. “The EV9’s standard 800V electrical architecture enables hyper-fast DC charging,” said Steven Center, COO & EVP of Kia America.

New EV9 owners will have three years to utilize the 1,000 kWh of complimentary charging. To facilitate the charging process, owners can download the Electrify America mobile app to locate stations, check their status, and even make payments.

This agreement demonstrates the growing commitment of both Kia and Electrify America to making electric vehicle ownership more convenient and accessible for everyone.
