Kia Corporation’s all-electric PV5 has been named the 2026 International Van of the Year, marking the first time a Korean manufacturer has received the industry’s most prestigious light commercial vehicle award. The recognition was announced at SOLUTRANS 2025 in Lyon, France on November 19, following a unanimous vote by 26 commercial vehicle journalists worldwide.

Historic Achievement for Korean Commercial Vehicles
The International Van of the Year award, established in 1992, evaluates light commercial vehicles on their contribution to real-world productivity and segment advancement. The PV5 defeated six other contenders to become only the second Asian brand to win the award.
Jarlath Sweeney, Chairman of the International Van of the Year jury, stated the PV5 sets a new benchmark for innovation, efficiency and all-round capability in the light commercial vehicle segment, combining zero-emission performance with versatility and practicality.

Safety and Structural Engineering

Advanced driver-assistance systems include Surround View Monitoring and Lane Keeping Assist, supporting operation in busy commercial environments.
Customer-Driven Development Approach
Kia’s development process focused on real customer insight through collaboration with business operators from the earliest stages. The design reflects operational needs across logistics, delivery and mobility industries, from modular body configurations to digital interfaces and ease of servicing.

Market Availability and Future Expansion
The PV5 is currently available in Cargo Long and Passenger 5-seater versions across Europe. From 2026, Kia will introduce additional variants:
- Chassis Cab
- Cargo Standard (L1H1)
- High Roof (L2H2)
The company plans to expand its Platform Beyond Vehicle ecosystem with larger models including the PV7 and PV9, building a full-scale, next-generation commercial vehicle lineup.
