It was unveiled at the Financial Times’ Future of the Car Summit in London, in partnership with Motability Operations Ltd., a UK organization that supports vehicle access for individuals with disabilities through the Motability Scheme. The PV5 WAV is designed for ease and safety. Its side-entry system allows wheelchair users to board from the sidewalk, while the third-row tip-up seat enables caregivers to assist from the side. A quick-use, 300kg-rated ramp and special wheelchair belt system add convenience and security. Produced at Kia’s Hwaseong EVO Plant in Korea, it uses eco-friendly methods, aligning with Kia’s sustainable mobility goals.

Kia has a strong track record in accessibility. Since 2012, its “Green Trip” initiative in South Korea has aided travel for people with disabilities. In 2021, a Los Angeles project offered car-hailing services for those with unique mobility needs.

Beyond hardware, the PV5 WAV integrates user-friendly applications via the AAOS software platform. Kia plans to bring this vehicle to more global markets, reinforcing its role as a Sustainable Mobility Solutions Provider.

This launch marks a step toward inclusive, eco-conscious transportation for all.
