Leapmotor B10 Hybrid EV Launches Across Europe

The Leapmotor B10 Hybrid EV brings range-extender technology to Europe's compact SUV segment, offering up to 900 km of combined range starting at €29,900.

Leapmotor has expanded its European lineup with the B10 Hybrid EV, a compact C-segment SUV built on the brand’s range-extender architecture. The model pairs a fully electric drivetrain with a 1.5-liter onboard petrol generator. It targets urban drivers and young families seeking electric driving without full BEV commitment. Pricing starts at €29,900.

Highlights

  • Range-extender architecture delivers up to 900 km combined range via an 18.8 kWh battery (86 km electric range), 50 kW generator, and 50-liter fuel tank
  • Four energy modes (EV+, EV, Fuel, Power+) allow drivers to prioritize pure electric operation or generator-assisted range depending on conditions
  • OTA update adds native Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, plus one-pedal driving capability
  • Two trim levels (Life and Design) offered with six exterior colors and three interior themes

Range-Extender Drivetrain

The B10 Hybrid EV uses Leapmotor’s electric-first hybrid system, already deployed in the larger C10. The electric motor drives the wheels at all times. The range extender has no mechanical connection to the wheels. Instead, it functions solely as an onboard generator to recharge the battery during driving.

This architecture delivers a driving experience similar to a full BEV. Leapmotor said the system provides instant torque, seamless acceleration without gear shifts, and silent operation. Energy management is handled automatically with no driver input required.

Four Energy Modes

The vehicle offers four selectable energy modes to balance efficiency and performance.

  • EV+: Maximizes battery use for fully electric urban driving and short commutes. Engine remains off.
  • EV: Defaults to electric propulsion but allows the range extender to activate when needed to support battery charge. Engine remains off unless triggered.
  • Fuel: Prioritizes the petrol generator for long-distance travel. Battery energy is preserved for later use in city centers or low-emission zones.
  • Power+: Combines full electric motor output with the generator’s capacity for maximum performance during overtaking or steep gradients.

The two pure-electric modes (EV and EV+) produce zero tailpipe emissions. The generator-assisted modes (Fuel and Power+) provide flexibility for longer trips and higher power demands.

Technology and Connectivity

The cabin centers on a 14.6-inch 2.5K HD display powered by the Qualcomm 8155 chipset and Leapmotor’s LEAP OS 4.0 Plus software. A 12-speaker audio system is included.

A recent OTA update introduced native Apple CarPlay and Android Auto via wired and wireless connections. The same update added one-pedal driving through improved energy recovery logic.

Safety Features

The B10 Hybrid EV includes a high-strength body structure, seven airbags, and 17 advanced driver assistance functions. Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Centering Control have been updated to provide smoother deceleration when approaching curves. A life-presence detection reminder has also been optimized.

Dimensions and Lineup

The vehicle measures 4,530 mm long, 1,885 mm wide, and 1,655 mm tall, with a 2,735 mm wheelbase. Leapmotor described the interior headroom as segment-leading. Heated and ventilated eco-leather front seats are included.

Two trims are available: Life Hybrid EV and Design Hybrid EV. Buyers can choose from six exterior colors and three interior themes. List pricing begins at €29,900.
