Li Auto launched the all-new Li L9 flagship extended-range SUV in China today with deliveries beginning immediately in two trims, Ultra and Livis, and a pre-sale price for the L9 Livis reported at 559,800 yuan (approximately $77,400). The company announced the launch alongside plans for an International Exclusive Version targeting overseas markets in the third quarter of 2026. The second-generation L9 carries a third-generation extended-range powertrain and a new 800V active suspension chassis. Li Auto reports a pure electric range of 420 km (about 261 miles) and a combined range of 1,650 km (about 1,025 miles).
Highlights
- Two China trims at launch: Ultra and Livis editions, with deliveries starting on launch day
- Third-generation EREV powertrain: 420 km pure electric range and 1,650 km combined range, per Li Auto (cycle not specified)
- 800V chassis architecture: Active suspension, steer-by-wire, and rear-wheel steering
- International Exclusive Version in Q3 2026: Central Asia, Middle East, and additional markets at launch

Powertrain and Chassis
The all-new L9 uses Li Auto’s third-generation extended-range system, in which a combustion generator charges the battery while electric motors drive the wheels. Li Auto cites a pure electric range of 420 km and a combined range of 1,650 km. The company did not specify whether those figures are CLTC or WLTP; neither is equivalent to an EPA rating, and U.S. range expectations should not be inferred from these numbers.
The chassis pairs an 800V active suspension with steer-by-wire and rear-wheel steering. Li Auto describes the platform as a flagship architecture for what it calls “embodied intelligence” — a category framing the company has applied across its newer L-series releases, including the earlier Li L8.

Cockpit and Cabin
The interior centers on a 29-inch panoramic screen and a next-generation smart cockpit running on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8797 platform. The cabin seats six in three rows. Li Auto positions the L9 as a full-size SUV with a focus on family use, consistent with its broader L-series positioning.
Livis Trim and Exterior
The L9 Livis adds four exclusive two-tone paint schemes — Truffle Gold with Titanium Gold, Purple with Titanium Gold, Green with Titanium Gold, and Black with Titanium Gold — paired with standard 22-inch wheels. The company describes the design direction as a “future icon” philosophy intended to give the SUV a more commanding flagship appearance.

International Strategy
Li Auto said the International Exclusive Version will retain the L9’s core powertrain and chassis capabilities while adapting to local conditions. Stated localization elements include an email-based version of the Li Auto App for international users, global charging compatibility, climate-specific durability enhancements, navigation tied to local mapping and traffic services, and a localized infotainment system updated over the air.
Li Auto Chairman and CEO Li Xiang framed the rollout as a technology-led successor to the prior L9: “The previous L9 succeeded by precisely defining its product; the All-New Li L9 will build its moat through technology. That is the true value of a flagship embodied intelligence SUV. Our global expansion began in Central Asia and the Middle East, and Europe is already underway. Asia and Europe will be our next key battlegrounds.”
The company entered overseas markets in 2025, including Central Asia, the Caucasus, and North Africa. The Q3 2026 international launch of the all-new L9 advances what Li Auto calls a two-pillar strategy combining domestic and overseas sales channels. The extended-range SUV format that defined the original L9 — pioneered by BMW with the i3 and used since on a handful of other EVs — is the technical platform Li Auto intends to carry into those markets.
