Loomis Expands Fleet with 150 Additional Armored Electric Vehicles from Xos

LOS ANGELES – Loomis and Xos, Inc. have agreed to a deal that will see the addition of 150 armored electric vehicles to Loomis’ US fleet. Loomis has been incorporating armored electric vehicles into its operations since 2019, when it first deployed Xos-manufactured EVs.

As the company’s largest contributor to its carbon footprint, Loomis has set a goal to reduce its fleet emissions. This new order for electric vehicles is a step towards that goal and a shift away from fossil fuels.

Aritz Larrea, President and CEO of Loomis AB, stated that the company is dedicated to reducing its carbon emissions and leading the industry in this transformation. The increased number of EVs in the US fleet will not only reduce Loomis’ own emissions but also support its customers in reaching their sustainability goals while maintaining high security standards.

Dakota Semler, CEO of Xos, expressed his excitement about the continued partnership with Loomis, saying it demonstrates the reliability and durability of Xos vehicles and their ability to perform in high-security, cash-in-transit operations.

In addition to the vehicles, Xos has also provided Loomis with charging infrastructure and services to ensure a seamless integration into the company’s business operations.

About – Xos is a leading fleet services provider and original equipment manufacturer of Class 5 through Class 8 battery-electric vehicles. Xos vehicles and fleet management software are purpose-built for medium- and heavy-duty commercial vehicles that travel on last-mile, back-to-base routes of up to 270 miles or less per day. The company leverages its proprietary technologies to provide commercial fleets with battery-electric vehicles that are easier to maintain and more cost-efficient on a total cost of ownership (TCO) basis than their internal combustion engine counterparts.
