Lucid Motors has introduced a new Mobile Service Platform designed to expand the automaker’s ability to perform vehicle repairs and maintenance at owners’ locations. The company said the platform will enable technicians to complete a broader range of procedures on-site, reducing the need for service center visits.
Highlights
- Lucid’s new Mobile Service Platform more than doubles the storage capacity of its current service vehicles
- The platform includes battery-powered tools, an air compressor, a jack system, and a safety kit
- A slider system allows technicians to access equipment faster during on-site service calls
- The platform supports both Lucid Air and Lucid Gravity owners
Expanded Field Capabilities
The new platform is purpose-built to carry a wider range of tools and parts than Lucid’s existing mobile service fleet. According to the company, onboard storage capacity has more than doubled compared to current vehicles. That expanded capacity allows technicians to handle more complex work without returning to a service center for parts or equipment.
Key onboard features include:
- Battery-powered tools and an integrated air compressor
- Jack system and safety kit for performing undercarriage work on-site
- Innovative slider system for rapid tool access during service appointments
Reducing Friction in the Ownership Experience
Erwin Raphael, SVP of Revenue at Lucid, framed the platform as part of a broader strategy to minimize disruption for vehicle owners.
“Our mobile service strategy is about meeting customers where they are and removing friction from the ownership experience,” Raphael said. “With this new Mobile Service Platform, customers spend less time waiting and more time enjoying their vehicle.”
The platform is designed to serve owners of both the Lucid Air sedan lineup and the newer Lucid Gravity SUV.
Service Network Context
Lucid currently operates a network of service centers and mobile service units across the U.S. The company has steadily expanded its service footprint as deliveries of the Air and Gravity have grown. Mobile service is an increasingly common approach among EV manufacturers seeking to reduce reliance on traditional fixed-location service infrastructure.
