Lucid Group has named Munsterhuis Autobedrijven its first retail partner in the Netherlands, handing the family-owned dealer group — in business for more than six decades — a dedicated Lucid sales location in Hengelo. Authorized Lucid aftersales and service operations will run from the same site. The agreement complements the Lucid Studio and Service Center already operating in Hilversum and covers both the Lucid Air sedan and the Lucid Gravity SUV, according to Lucid’s announcement.
Highlights
- Munsterhuis becomes Lucid’s first retail partner in the Netherlands, following the Wackenhut agreement in Germany earlier this year.
- A dedicated Lucid sales location opens in Hengelo, with authorized Lucid aftersales and service operations at the same site.
- The partnership complements Lucid’s existing Studio and Service Center in Hilversum, outside Amsterdam.
- Munsterhuis has served Dutch customers for more than 60 years across vehicle sales, servicing, leasing, rental, insurance, and repair.
What the Hengelo Site Will Handle
Munsterhuis will run a dedicated Lucid sales location in Hengelo, in the eastern Netherlands, with authorized Lucid aftersales and service operations at the same address. Lucid says the arrangement broadens customer access across the country and extends service coverage in the market, adding a second Dutch service point alongside the Hilversum facility.
Who Is Munsterhuis Autobedrijven?
Munsterhuis Autobedrijven is a family-owned Dutch automotive group serving private and business customers through vehicle sales, maintenance, leasing, rental, insurance, and repair services. The company operates multiple locations in the Netherlands, and Lucid says its customer base is concentrated in the Twente region. Lucid characterizes Munsterhuis as one of the country’s most established automotive groups.
Vehicles Covered by the Agreement
Both Lucid models sold through Munsterhuis carry Netherlands-market WLTP figures disclosed in the release:
| Model | Power | WLTP combined range | Energy consumption |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lucid Air | 436–1,234 hp (325–920 kW) | 431–597 miles (694–960 km) | 11.8–19.1 kWh/100 km |
| Lucid Gravity | 560–828 hp (418–617 kW) | 318–465 miles (511–748 km) | 18.2–19.4 kWh/100 km |
Both vehicles are rated at 0 g CO₂ per kilometer driven under the same test cycle. WLTP figures are not directly comparable to EPA ratings used in the US market, and the procedure generally returns higher range numbers than the EPA cycle.
How the Partnership Fits Lucid’s European Retail Model
The Dutch agreement continues Lucid’s hybrid retail strategy in Europe, building on the announcement earlier this year with German retailer Wackenhut.
“Our partnership with Munsterhuis represents yet another milestone for Lucid’s European expansion,” said Lawrence Hamilton, President of Europe at Lucid. “The Netherlands is a key market with a strong appetite for innovative and sustainable mobility. Munsterhuis’ longstanding reputation makes them an ideal partner to introduce more Dutch customers to the Lucid brand and our award-winning lineup.”
“The arrival of Lucid represents an exciting new chapter for Munsterhuis,” said Jochen Munsterhuis, Director at Munsterhuis. “We continuously strive to offer our customers the most innovative and forward-looking mobility solutions. Lucid’s industry-leading technology, outstanding efficiency, and uncompromising approach to luxury make the brand a perfect addition to our portfolio. We are proud to have Lucid with us and look forward to welcoming our first Lucid customers.”
