A massive bankruptcy auction is underway for Northvolt Ett Expansion, offering a unique opportunity for buyers to acquire unused, high-tech equipment worth approximately 300 million euros. The auction, managed by TBAuctions and its brands, including PS Auction and Troostwijk Auctions, is one of the largest in Europe and features cutting-edge technology for battery manufacturing.

Key Highlights:

  • Bankruptcy auction for Northvolt Ett Expansion begins
  • Equipment worth approximately 300 million euros up for sale
  • High-tech, unused equipment for battery manufacturing
  • One of the largest bankruptcy auctions in Europe
  • Digital tours and private bidding procedures available
  • First auction started on April 8th

The auction is being conducted by PS Auction, part of the TBAuctions group, on behalf of the bankruptcy trustee, Jonas Premfors of DLA Piper. To maximize the outcome for the creditors, PS Auction is collaborating with Troostwijk Auctions and other TBAuctions brands to reach European and global markets. The equipment, most of which is unused and still in its original packaging, includes pumps, piping systems, electrical cabinets, and transformers, all crucial for battery production.

“As bankruptcy trustee, our primary interest is to liquidate the assets as advantageously as possible for the creditors. By collaborating with PS Auction, we ensure a structured and efficient process to maximize the outcome for the bankruptcy estate,” said Jonas Premfors.

In addition to online auctions, some sales will be conducted through private bidding procedures for more complex items, such as complete production lines. This approach allows for targeted outreach to qualified buyers worldwide. To facilitate the process, PS Auction is utilizing 3D technology for digital walkthroughs, enabling potential buyers to explore the factory environment and inspect the equipment virtually.

“The auction provides a unique behind-the-scenes look at Sweden’s most talked-about industrial project and a rare opportunity for large-scale reuse. These are significant assets for companies that are seriously investing in vehicle electrification,” said Per Henriksson, CEO of PS Auction.

“This auction not only reflects the scale and complexity of Europe’s industrial landscape but also our core belief in giving high-value assets a second life. By facilitating large-scale reuse through digital innovation, PS Auction and the TBAuctions group are helping industries recover value, reduce waste, and move closer to a truly circular economy,” added Tom Christenson, CEO of TBAuctions.

The bankruptcy auction is extensive and will be conducted in multiple stages over several months. The first auctions and bidding processes began on April 8th and will continue on an ongoing basis. Interested parties can view the available items on PS Auction and Troostwijk Auctions, as well as on a dedicated website that includes 3D digital tours and private treaty sales at https://nvx.psauction.com.
