AMPECO has partnered with Plugsurfing to offer a managed roaming option for the eMobility service providers (eMSPs) running on its EV charging management platform. The deal gives AMPECO’s eMSP customers immediate access to more than one million charge points across 28 European countries through a single Roam OCPI integration, without the operational burden of negotiating bilateral CPO agreements. The arrangement is available across all European markets at launch.

A Third Path for eMSP Roaming Strategy
The Plugsurfing tie-up rounds out AMPECO’s roaming portfolio with a fully managed option. The platform already supports self-managed roaming, where eMSPs negotiate and operate their own bilateral agreements with charge point operators, and a hybrid configuration that mixes managed and direct relationships. Brian’s customers can now select the model that best matches their growth stage and operational appetite.
For eMSPs that opt for the managed track, Plugsurfing handles the network relationships and back-office operations. That includes consolidated monthly invoicing across all connected CPOs, automated charge detail record (CDR) validation, and invoice reconciliation. Tariff data is standardized and normalized at the platform level and made available through Roam OCPI, with updates that can be pulled as frequently as every minute.
Network Reach and DC Coverage
Plugsurfing positions itself as a roaming aggregator at the upper end of the European market. The company says its network is supported by more than 800 international and local CPOs and provides an estimated 78% of total roaming coverage on the continent. Coverage rises to over 93% for DC and high-power charging across Europe’s most mature EV markets.
Connected operators include IONITY, Tesla Supercharger, Fastned, and Allego. Germany, France, and the Netherlands together account for more than half a million charge points within the network, giving eMSPs that target those markets immediate density on day one.
