Mazda has confirmed that its first electric sedan, the MAZDA EZ-6, will be launched as a global model. The vehicle, which was recently showcased to users in China, marks Mazda’s entry into the global new energy vehicle market. Production began in July at Changan Mazda, Mazda’s joint venture in China. This move solidifies Changan Mazda as Mazda’s exclusive Chinese new energy R&D and production base. Although the MAZDA EZ-6 represents a shift towards electric vehicles, Mazda has ensured that the driving experience remains exceptional. The company’s European R&D center played a key role in tuning the vehicle’s dynamic performance, drawing on Mazda’s extensive expertise from the gasoline vehicle era.
In terms of technology, this is equipped with leading-edge intelligence and electrification technology from Changan Automobile, Mazda’s partner in China. The vehicle boasts Level 2.5 autonomous driving assistance, a 7nm Qualcomm SA8155P chip, four high-definition panoramic cameras, and twelve high-performance ultrasonic radars, enabling a range of intelligent driving scenarios.
