The Mazda6e, a mid-sized electric hatchback, builds upon the legacy of the internal combustion Mazda6, blending modern styling with advanced technology. It offers two battery options, catering to different customer preferences. The 68.8kWh battery delivers a range of up to 300 miles, while the larger 80kWh battery extends the range to 345 miles. Both models support DC fast charging, ensuring rapid recharges during long journeys.
The exterior design, following Mazda’s “Kodo Soul of Motion” philosophy, incorporates bold features such as frameless doors, a sleek coupe-like silhouette, and dynamic lighting elements that indicate charge status. The rear includes a horizontal taillight bar, electronically extendable spoiler, and newly designed Mazda lettering, providing a modern and sporty appearance.
Inside, the Mazda6e prioritizes sophistication and functionality. The airy cabin boasts a panoramic roof, a 14.6-inch touchscreen, and an augmented reality head-up display. High-quality materials are used across two trim levels: Takumi and Takumi Plus. These features combine to offer a harmonious blend of style, comfort, and practicality, including a 330-liter rear boot and a 70-liter front compartment.
Mazda’s Managing Director, Jeremy Thomson, emphasized the significance of the Mazda6e:
“The Mazda6e is a real statement of intent for the future and illustrates how Mazda can bring great design, technology, and style to battery electric vehicles.”
Scheduled for a UK launch in 2026, the Mazda6e will be a pivotal addition to Mazda’s growing electrification strategy.
