Mazda has confirmed UK pricing and specification for the all-new Mazda6e, the brand’s electric successor to the long-running Mazda6 sedan. Arriving in UK showrooms this summer, the rear-wheel-drive EV starts at £38,995 for the Takumi grade and £39,995 for the Takumi Plus. Both models sit under the £40,000 threshold and feature a 78kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery delivering a WLTP combined range of 348 miles.
Highlights
- 78kWh LFP battery delivers 348 miles of combined WLTP range with 10-to-80% DC fast charging in 24 minutes at 195kW.
- 258ps single-motor RWD powertrain produces 290Nm of torque and reaches 62 mph in 7.9 seconds.
- Two-grade UK lineup — Takumi at £38,995 and Takumi Plus at £39,995 — both packed with standard equipment.
- Mazda CX-6e SUV is confirmed for UK arrival later in 2026 as the next step in Mazda’s BEV strategy.

UK-Specific 78kWh Battery Configuration
Mazda launched the 6e in Europe with two powertrain options: a 68.8kWh LFP or 80kWh NCM battery. The UK model simplifies the range with a single 78kWh LFP unit. Mazda states this configuration combines the strengths of both European options in terms of range, performance, and charging speed.
Key powertrain specifications include:
- Battery: 78kWh lithium-ion (LFP), weighing 550 kg
- Motor output: 258ps (190kW) with 290Nm of torque
- Drive type: Single motor, rear-wheel drive, one-speed automatic
- 0-62 mph: 7.9 seconds
- Top speed: 109 mph

Charging Performance
The Mazda6e supports DC fast charging at up to 195kW. Key charging times are as follows:
- 10-80% (195kW DC): 24 minutes
- 30-80% (195kW DC): 15 minutes
- 0-100% (7.2kW AC, single phase): 11 hours 48 minutes
A heat pump and Mode 3 AC charging cable are included as standard. Maximum AC charging capacity is 11kW.
Efficiency and Range
WLTP combined energy consumption is rated at 15.9 kWh/100km, dropping to 12.4 kWh/100km in city driving. Combined range is 348 miles, extending to 436 miles in urban conditions. CO₂ emissions are rated at 0 g/km.

Exterior Design: Kodo Philosophy Evolved
The Mazda6e introduces the next evolution of Mazda’s Kodo — Soul of Motion design language. Its low roofline and short-deck coupe silhouette retain the proportions of a premium sedan while offering five-door hatchback access.
Notable exterior features include:
