Mitsubishi Motors has announced plans to reintroduce the Outlander PHEV and the L200 pickup truck to the United Kingdom market. Both models are scheduled to go on sale in the summer of 2026. The launch will initially feature limited inventory volumes for both vehicle lines.
Highlights
- Launch Timing: Sales for both models begin in the summer of 2026.
- Powertrain: The Outlander PHEV utilizes a 2.4-liter gasoline engine and dual electric motors.
- Performance: The L200 Series 7 features a reengineered 2.4-liter bi-turbo diesel engine.
- Availability: Vehicles will be available in limited numbers at launch.
Outlander PHEV Technical Specifications
The upcoming Outlander PHEV has been redesigned from the ground up. The chassis dimensions have increased compared to the previous generation, measuring 2.5cm longer, 6.2cm wider, and 3.8cm taller. For the first time in the UK market, the model will offer a seven-seat configuration option.
The powertrain combines an enhanced 2.4-liter gasoline engine with a traction battery that supports both front and rear electric motors. This electric-vehicle-based four-wheel-drive system produces a combined output exceeding 300hp. The manufacturer estimates a total driving range of over 500 miles, subject to driving conditions.
Driving dynamics are managed by Mitsubishi’s Super-All Wheel Control (S-AWC) system. This technology regulates braking and driving forces at each wheel to optimize stability. Drivers can utilize various drive modes and terrain settings to adapt to different weather and surface conditions.

L200 Series 7 Capabilities
The L200 Series 7 double-cab pickup represents the latest iteration of a nameplate with over 180,000 cumulative sales in the region. This model features a rugged exterior design paired with a cabin that offers upgraded materials and technology.
Under the hood, the L200 is powered by a heavily reengineered 2.4-liter two-stage bi-turbo diesel engine. This new power plant delivers increased power and torque compared to its predecessor.
The truck utilizes the Super Select 4WD-II system. This drivetrain allows for multiple configurations:
- Two-wheel drive
- Four-wheel drive
- Center differential locked full-time four-wheel drive
- Low gear center differential locked four-wheel drive
Operators can further tailor the vehicle’s performance using seven distinct driving modes: Normal, ECO, Gravel, Snow, Mud, Sand, and Rock.
Market Strategy and Management
