Moke America has officially released an upgraded, street-legal version of its signature electric Moke. The new model features significantly increased speed and range, elevating it beyond its former classification as a Low Speed Vehicle (LSV) and making it ready for road use without previous restrictions.
Key Highlights
- The new electric Moke is now fully street legal, achieving a top speed of 45 MPH.
- It is powered by a lithium battery that provides a range of up to 80 miles.
- The vehicle has received NHTSA approval and an EPA Certificate of Conformity.
- Extensive customization is available, including 13 body colors and numerous accessories.
Enhanced Performance and Safety
The defining feature of the new Moke is its reclassification from an LSV, a change made possible by its increased performance capabilities. The vehicle is powered by a lithium battery that can be fully charged in just six hours using a standard 110V outlet. This improved power source allows for the higher top speed and extended driving range.
This milestone is supported by official certifications, including NHTSA approval and an EPA Certificate of Conformity, underscoring the company’s commitment to safety and sustainability. According to Todd Rome, Founder and CEO of Moke America, the update directly addresses customer requests for more speed, transforming the Moke from a beach cruiser into a versatile, road-ready electric vehicle.
Full Customization Options
Personalization remains a core element of the Moke America experience. The new street-legal model is fully customizable, allowing owners to design a vehicle that reflects their personal style. Customers can select from 13 body colors, along with options for white, black, or wicker seats. The vehicle also comes with a choice of canvas Bimini tops and various rim colors.
For further personalization, Moke America operates a dedicated after-market accessories shop, available at www.mokeamericashop.com, where owners can find additional items to enhance their vehicles.
A Cultural Icon Reimagined
The Moke has a storied history as a cultural icon, famously enjoyed by figures like Brigitte Bardot and James Bond in the 1960s. Today, the electric Moke continues this legacy with a modern following that includes celebrities, fashion brands, and social media influencers. As a low-volume EV manufacturer, Moke America maintains the vehicle’s exclusive appeal with its limited availability and timeless design. The company has expanded its reach with 30 dealerships across the country.
