Nissan has introduced the NISSAN ENERGY Charge Network, aimed at simplifying electric vehicle (EV) charging for Ariya drivers. This new service, integrated into the MyNISSAN app, provides access to over 90,000 public fast chargers across the U.S., allowing drivers to easily locate, check availability, and pay for charging—all from one platform. The new functionality will be available by November 2024.
Key Highlights:
- Access to over 90,000 public fast chargers across the U.S. via the NISSAN ENERGY Charge Network.
- Integrated charging management through the MyNISSAN app for streamlined access, availability checks, and payments.
- Charging partners include Electrify America, Shell Recharge, ChargePoint, and EVgo, with more networks to be added in the future.
- NACS adapter to be available for Ariya drivers later this year, enabling charging at Tesla Supercharger locations.
- Future Nissan EV models for the U.S. and Canadian markets will include NACS ports starting in 2025.
The NISSAN ENERGY Charge Network is a significant addition to the MyNISSAN app, consolidating vehicle and charging management in one convenient platform. This integration makes EV ownership smoother, with users able to store their payment details and activate charging sessions at compatible stations with just a tap.
Charging partners include Electrify America, known for its extensive fast-charging infrastructure in the U.S., alongside Shell Recharge, ChargePoint, and EVgo. The partnership expansion will continue, further increasing the network’s reach and convenience for Nissan EV drivers. This feature is initially exclusive to Ariya drivers, but Nissan LEAF owners can continue to use the NissanConnect EV and Services app for finding charging stations.
Nissan’s commitment to customer convenience extends beyond charging solutions. The company is also rolling out North American Charging Standard (NACS) adapters later in the year, allowing Ariya drivers to access Tesla Supercharger locations—substantially increasing charging availability. By 2025, new Nissan EVs in the U.S. and Canada will come equipped with NACS ports, making them compatible with Tesla’s charging infrastructure.
The Nissan Ariya, available with up to 304 miles of EPA-estimated driving range and an enhanced starting price of $39,590 for the 2024 model year, exemplifies Nissan’s dedication to accessible and advanced EV options. Ariya has received recognition for its safety and performance, including the IIHS 2024 TOP SAFETY PICK designation and a place in the Wards 10 Best Engines & Propulsion Systems list for its e-4ORCE system.
As part of its broader mission, Nissan aims to introduce 16 new electrified models by 2026 under its Arc mid-term business plan, underscoring its commitment to sustainable mobility.
