Mazda says the Mazda6e has achieved the highest residual value forecast in its competitive set, according to CAP Gold Book data for April 2026. The electric sedan, priced from £38,995 (approximately $52,900 USD) for the Takumi grade, is forecast to retain 58.3% of its value at three years and 30,000 miles — ahead of the Tesla Model 3, BYD Seal, Polestar 2, and Volkswagen ID.7. First customer deliveries are expected this summer.
Highlights
- CAP Gold Book April 2026 data forecasts a 58.3% residual value for the Mazda6e at 3 years/30,000 miles, leading seven segment rivals.
- UK-spec Mazda6e uses a single 78 kWh LFP battery delivering 348 miles of WLTP combined range and 10-to-80% DC charging in 24 minutes.
- Mazda has briefed over 30 leasing companies and 120 end-user fleet customers ahead of the summer launch.
- The Mazda6e goes on display at the 2026 Great British Fleet Event in Milton Keynes on April 16.

Fleet Market Positioning
The residual value figure is a significant data point for UK fleet buyers. A 58.3% retention rate at the three-year/30,000-mile benchmark positions the Mazda6e well above several established electric competitors in the D-segment. CAP Gold Book forecasts are closely watched by leasing companies and fleet operators as a key input for monthly lease rates and total cost of ownership calculations.
Mazda UK’s Head of Fleet, Steve Tomlinson, said: “the Mazda6e is the car our fleet customers have been waiting for, with a nod to the popularity of the Mazda6 it’s a real statement of intent for the future and illustrates how Mazda can bring great design, technology and style to battery electric vehicles. The latest RV data from CAP is great news and is representative of the Mazda6e’s mix of desirability, style, value and equipment”.
Tomlinson added: “The arrival of the Mazda6e this summer is perfect, it’s a fantastic and timely addition to our multi-solution approach that includes mild-hybrid, plug-in hybrid and battery electric offerings. The fleet team has been busy showing the car to leasing companies and the feedback has been great with lots of positive comments on the monthly cost, interior quality, styling and the practical hatchback body style.”
Pre-Launch Fleet Engagement
Mazda reports that 30 leasing companies and more than 120 end-user fleet customers have viewed the Mazda6e in person ahead of deliveries. The car will be showcased at the 2026 Great British Fleet Event at MK Arena in Milton Keynes on April 16, expanding its exposure to fleet decision-makers.
The original Mazda6, produced across three generations from 2002 to 2023, was a consistent presence in the UK fleet market. Mazda is positioning the Mazda6e as a direct continuation of that legacy in the BEV era.

UK Powertrain and Pricing
Unlike the European market, where the Mazda6e is offered with a 68.8 kWh LFP or 80 kWh NCM battery, the UK model launches with a single 78 kWh LFP configuration. Mazda says this approach combines the strengths of both European options for range, performance, and charging speed.
- Battery: 78 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP)
- WLTP combined range: 348 miles (WLTP; no EPA rating available)
- DC fast charging: 10–80% in 24 minutes at 195 kW
- Power: 258 ps / 290 Nm
- 0–62 mph: 7.9 seconds
- Drivetrain: rear-wheel drive
Pricing starts at £38,995 ($52,900 USD) for the Takumi and £39,995 ($54,250 USD) for the Takumi Plus. Both models sit below the £40,000 threshold, a psychologically important marker in the UK fleet market.
Equipment and Design
Both trim levels include a 14.6-inch touchscreen, 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, augmented reality head-up display, and panoramic roof as standard. Takumi models come with Maztex synthetic leather (Mazda’s vegan leather alternative), while Takumi Plus adds Nappa leather with woven suede fabric trim.
Exterior design details include frameless doors, an illuminated signature wing grille that animates during charging, 19-inch aerodynamic wheels, and an electronically extendable rear spoiler. The five-door hatchback body style prioritizes cabin access and cargo flexibility over the traditional sedan silhouette.
Mazda has confirmed the CX-6e electric SUV will follow as the brand’s next UK BEV launch later in 2026, part of a broader multi-solution electrification strategy that spans mild-hybrid, PHEV, and full-electric offerings.
