Nissan Formula E Team enters Round 3 of the 2025/26 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship with momentum from consecutive podium finishes. The Miami E-Prix marks the series’ debut at Miami International Autodrome, presenting new technical challenges for defending champion Oliver Rowland and teammate Norman Nato.
Highlights
- Defending champion Rowland sits third in the Drivers’ Standings after podium finishes in São Paulo and Mexico City to open Season 12.
- The 2.32-kilometer Miami International Autodrome features 14 turns with heavy braking zones at Turns 11 and 13 identified as primary overtaking opportunities.
- Rookie drivers Abbi Pulling and Gabriele Minì will gather track data during Friday’s Rookie Free Practice session before the main drivers take over.
- Nissan remains the only Japanese manufacturer in Formula E and has committed to the series through the GEN4 era ending in 2030.

Championship Standings and Driver Form
Rowland secured the Season 11 Drivers’ World Championship with four victories, seven podiums, and three pole positions. His title defense has started solidly with top-three results at both opening rounds.
Nato has demonstrated competitive pace despite in-race incidents limiting his points haul. The French driver carries strong form into Miami, having finished in the top 10 on every previous U.S. race visit. Last season’s Miami event saw Nato take pole position and cross the finish line first before a post-race penalty relegated him to sixth.
Circuit Characteristics
The Miami International Autodrome differs substantially from the season’s opening venues. The track surface offers higher grip levels compared to São Paulo and Mexico City, which team personnel expect will reduce energy-saving requirements during the race.
The circuit layout features a technical opening section with tight corners before opening into longer straights. Teams anticipate qualifying positions will prove critical given limited overtaking opportunities outside Turns 11 and 13.

Nissan’s Formula E Commitment
Nissan entered Formula E in Season 5 (2018/19) as the first Japanese manufacturer to compete in the all-electric series. The company acquired the e.dams race team in April 2022, taking full ownership of its championship program.
In March 2024, Nissan became the first manufacturer to commit to the GEN4 era, which runs through 2030. The program supports Nissan’s broader electrification strategy targeting carbon neutrality by 2050.
