WiTricity, a leader in wireless electric vehicle (EV) charging, has announced a groundbreaking collaboration with KG Mobility. The partnership will see the introduction of WiTricity’s pioneering wireless charging in the Torres EVX Pickup, a new, all-electric model from KG Mobility.
Alex Gruzen, CEO of WiTricity, expressed pride in the collaboration: “We are proud that WiTricity’s technology has been selected by KG Mobility. KG Mobility customers will soon discover that they will enjoy safe, reliable charging as soon as they park their car.”
This innovative charging method eliminates the need for manual plug-ins. Owners of the Torres EVX Pickup equipped with WiTricity’s technology will enjoy the convenience of charging their vehicle simply by parking it over a charging pad. This pad connects to a standard 240-volt household circuit, offering the same charging speed and efficiency as Level 2 plug-in chargers.
The wireless charging option will be available starting with the 2025 model year of the Torres EVX Pickup. Demonstrating the versatility of this technology, a Torres EVX SUV fitted with a WiTricity receiver was showcased at the recent Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
