A3 Global has launched the NuVant Systems LVc-40, a state-of-the-art tool designed to diagnose, repair, and recondition hybrid and electric vehicle (EV) batteries. Unveiled at the Battery and EV Technology Show in Detroit, the LVc-40 leverages advanced technology to provide precise performance metrics and extend battery life, contributing to sustainability efforts. The tool is now available for pre-order, with shipments expected in early 2025, and has already won the 2024 Green GOOD DESIGN® Award for its impact on reducing environmental harm.
Key Highlights:
- NuVant Systems LVc-40 can diagnose, repair, and recondition hybrid and EV batteries.
- Features 40 individual channels and AI-driven software for enhanced battery performance.
- Supports popular battery modules like 18650s and 4680s.
- Available for pre-order, with shipments starting early 2025.
- Winner of the 2024 Green GOOD DESIGN® Award for sustainability.
Building on proven NuVant technology, initially developed at Northeastern University, the LVc-40 sets a new standard in battery reconditioning. It features 40 individual channels and an integrated computer running NuVant’s Pack-Builder software, utilizing AI-driven algorithms to maximize battery performance. The system provides critical diagnostic metrics such as internal resistance, watt-hour capacity, amp-hour capacity, and individual cell voltages. It can service popular battery modules, including the 18650s and 4680s used in Tesla vehicles and other leading EV and hybrid models.
Michael Cardone III, CEO of A3 Global, emphasized the tool’s importance: “The LVc-40 is a game-changer for service shops and fleet managers looking to capitalize on the growing hybrid and EV market. This tool empowers technicians to extend battery life, reduce environmental impact, and provide a cost-effective alternative to new battery replacements, making it a critical solution for the future of vehicle electrification.”
Dr. Eugene Smotkin, Senior Vice President of Research and Development at NuVant Systems, also highlighted the technological advancements: “The science behind the LVc-40 allows for pinpoint accuracy in identifying faulty cells and reconditioning batteries, which not only extends battery life but also boosts overall performance.” Dr. Smotkin was recently named a Fellow by the American Association for the Advancement of Science for his contributions to battery life cycle extension and related technologies.
The LVc-40 was officially unveiled at the Battery and EV Technology Show in Detroit on October 8, 2024, and is currently available for pre-order, with shipments beginning early next year. The 2024 Green GOOD DESIGN® Award recognized the LVc-40 for its role in reducing CO2 emissions and advancing the green vehicle movement.
