AVILOO has named Brett Lippel as CEO of its North American operations, handing an executive with more than two decades of automotive leadership the task of scaling the independent EV battery diagnostics firm across the United States. AVILOO, founded near Vienna, Austria, in 2018, has run its U.S. operations from a Denver base since 2024 and markets manufacturer-independent testing for the drive batteries of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles. The appointment lands as the used-EV segment expands and battery health emerges as a decisive factor for buyers, dealerships, remarketers, and fleet operators.
Highlights

- AVILOO’s analysis methods and certificates are TÜV and CARA certified.
A Leadership Hire to Anchor U.S. Growth
Lippel steps into the role as AVILOO works to make independent battery testing a standard part of EV transactions in the U.S. Global CEO Marcus Berger framed the hire as central to that push, describing Lippel as “a proven expert from the automotive sector.”
“We are truly excited that we were able to bring on board a proven expert from the automotive industry with Brett. We can see how passionately he takes on this mission, and we are confident that thanks to his know‑how and dedication, we will make a decisive step toward realizing our goals in the United States,” Berger said.
Lippel said his early weeks in the position had reinforced his view of the company’s diagnostics. “This new responsibility is incredibly exciting, and I’m glad to be part of the outstanding AVILOO team. I am one hundred percent convinced by the product, and I believe our independent battery certificate is exactly the tool the industry needs to sustainably revolutionize the used EV market in the coming years,” he said.
Lippel’s Track Record
Lippel has held senior roles across the automotive and mobility sectors, including SVP at ShipYourCarNow.com, CEO of Lendgistics, and President of Midway Auto Group. He was also part of the early leadership team at TrueCar during its rapid growth phase. At AVILOO, he plans to use that network to widen the availability of the company’s battery testing across dealerships, fleets, remarketing partners, and OEMs.
What AVILOO’s Diagnostics Measure
AVILOO positions its testing as an alternative to relying on a vehicle’s onboard Battery Management System (BMS) data, offering what the company calls the first manufacturer-independent, validated battery diagnostic. Its FLASH Test returns a State of Health reading in about three minutes and is aimed at fleets and remarketing operations, while the more detailed PREMIUM Test targets individual owners. The company reports that the FLASH Test covers more than 96% of available brands and says its methods and certificates carry TÜV and CARA certification.
