Polestar introduces rear-wheel drive to Polestar 3 line-up, enhancing its flagship electric SUV with a new entry-level Long Range Single Motor version. This model, starting at £69,900, offers a range of up to 403 miles and is available for order starting today.

Polestar is expanding its Polestar 3 line-up by introducing a Long Range Single Motor variant. This new model offers consumers an additional way to experience their flagship electric SUV at a more accessible starting price of £69,900.
Thomas Ingenlath, CEO of Polestar, remarked, “With the Long range Single motor Polestar 3 we offer consumers a new entry-point for our flagship electric SUV. The rear-wheel drive configuration fits with our performance-focused driving dynamics that make the car stand out in the luxury SUV sector.”
This new entry-level Polestar 3, manufactured in China and the USA, features the same 111 kWh battery pack as the Dual Motor version, delivering a 250 kW peak charging capability. This allows for a 30-minute 10-80% charge on DC, providing up to 403 miles on a single charge according to the WLTP standard.
Maintaining Polestar’s commitment to performance, the Long Range Single Motor version includes a sophisticated passive damper system with Hydraulic Rebound Stops (HRS) and Frequency Selective Damping (FSD). These features ensure the new model retains the dynamic character of its dual-motor counterparts.
The rear-wheel-drive setup of the Long Range Single Motor Polestar 3 delivers 220 kW and 490 Nm of torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0-62mph in 7.8 seconds. It is equipped with the same Brembo braking system as the rest of the Polestar 3 range, ensuring strong stopping power.
As part of the MY25 line-up, the Long Range Single Motor Polestar 3 offers extensive customization options. Buyers can choose from six exterior colors, five interior themes, and four wheel options, including the new 21-inch alloy wheels available with the Pro Pack.
Additionally, the Pilot Pack with LiDAR from Luminar is now available for order, enhancing safety and convenience features for the Long Range Single Motor model.
