Polestar 4 Gains New Chassis, Trims, UK Pricing

Polestar has opened UK orders for the updated Polestar 4, adding a recalibrated chassis, a revised three-tier trim structure, and a lower carbon footprint, with prices starting at £56,750.

The updated Polestar 4 is now open to order in the UK, arriving with a recalibrated chassis, a revised three-tier trim structure, and a starting price of £56,750 (about $75,200). Polestar, the Swedish performance car brand, says the model-year changes center on refining the driving experience and lowering the car’s carbon footprint. The Polestar 4 reaches UK customers with a cradle-to-gate carbon footprint of 19.4 tonnes of CO₂e (tCO₂e) for Rear motor cars and 20.3 tCO₂e for Dual motor cars — the Dual motor figure down 1.1 tCO₂e since launch.

Highlights

  • Recalibrated chassis on Rear motor and Dual motor variants, with high-capacity passive dampers, new spring and anti-roll bar settings, and polyurethane rebound stops replacing internal rebound coil springs.
  • All-wheel-drive Dual motor variants cover 0–62 mph in 3.8 seconds, which Polestar says keeps the Polestar 4 the fastest SUV in its lineup.
  • Cradle-to-gate carbon footprint of 19.4 tCO₂e (Rear motor) and 20.3 tCO₂e (Dual motor), the lowest of any Polestar.
  • Revised range of Rear motor, Dual motor, and Dual motor with Performance pack, priced from £56,750 to £71,250 (about $75,200 to $94,400).

Chassis and Driving Dynamics

Rear motor and Dual motor variants receive a recalibrated chassis. The setup pairs high-capacity passive dampers with new spring and anti-roll bar settings, and replaces the internal rebound coil springs with polyurethane rebound stops. Polestar says steering precision has also been improved, giving a more controlled ride across driving conditions with gains in both agility and comfort.

Michael Lohscheller, CEO of Polestar, says: “The upgraded Polestar 4 coupé is better than ever, offering a more refined ride with enhanced driving pleasure, and stronger sustainability credentials. Overall, the Polestar 4 coupé delivers an even more compelling package without compromise.”

Performance and Carbon Footprint

Polestar says the Polestar 4 remains the fastest SUV in its lineup, with all-wheel-drive Dual motor variants completing the 0–62 mph sprint in 3.8 seconds while also carrying the lowest carbon footprint of any Polestar. In the UK, Dual motor cars arrive at a cradle-to-gate carbon footprint of 20.3 tCO₂e and Rear motor cars at 19.4 tCO₂e, with the Dual motor figure reduced by 1.1 tCO₂e since the model’s launch carbon footprint.

Revised Trim Structure and Naming

For the new model year, the Polestar 4 adopts a revised trim structure and naming convention spanning Rear motor, Dual motor, and Dual motor with Performance pack. Polestar differentiates the versions with visual cues: seatbelt and rotary control design in black on Rear motor, black with a Swedish gold stripe on Dual motor, and full Swedish gold on Dual motor cars with the Performance pack.

Within that structure, Business and Prime trim levels are offered on Rear motor and Dual motor variants. Business adds premium safety assistance — Pilot assist, Lane change assist, and Park assist pilot — along with rear privacy glass.

Prime builds on Business with a series of interior and exterior upgrades:

  • Interior: Harman Kardon sound, head-up display, illuminated star-knit door panels, rear control screen, 12-way adjustable seats with easy ingress/egress, reclining and heated rear seats, three-zone climate control, and a PM2.5 particulate filtration system.
  • Exterior: precision illuminated Polestar logo, Pixel LED headlights with adaptive high beam, and a power-operated tailgate with foot sensor.
