Polestar has upgraded its public charging infrastructure across Europe. The automaker now offers Plug & Charge at more than 28,000 stations and has fully integrated Tesla Superchargers into the Polestar Charge app. The moves give drivers access to over 1 million charging points through a single platform.
Highlights
- Plug & Charge compatibility now spans more than 28,000 stations across Europe, enabling automatic authentication and payment.
- Tesla Supercharger integration adds over 20,000 chargers at 1,500+ European locations directly within the Polestar Charge app.
- Polestar Charge users grew 30% from 2024 to 2025, reaching more than 45,000 active users.
- Discounted fast charging is available at over 80,000 points across 42 operators through a subscription tier.
How Plug & Charge Simplifies the Process
Plug & Charge enables direct communication between the vehicle and the charger. Payment processes automatically, removing multiple steps from a traditional charging session. The feature is included as a complimentary benefit with Polestar Charge.
In the UK, nearly 1,000 compatible stations support the technology. These include Ionity and Allego networks. Plug & Charge is currently available for the Polestar 2 MY26 and Polestar 3. Polestar 4 will receive the feature through an upcoming over-the-air update.

Tesla Supercharger Integration
Polestar is among the first OEMs to fully integrate Tesla Superchargers into its own app. Drivers can check availability and start sessions without switching platforms. Tesla Supercharger real-time availability also appears in the Polestar in-car navigation system powered by Google Maps. This supports optimized route planning.
“With Polestar Charge we give our customers access to one of the biggest charging networks in Europe,” said Olivier Loedel, Head of Product Software Management at Polestar. “By expanding Plug & Charge and fully integrating Tesla Superchargers, we’re improving our premium seamless charging experience even further.”
Network Scale and Subscription Benefits
Polestar Charge provides access to more than 1 million charging points across Europe through a single app. The network includes major operators:
- Ionity
- Recharge
- TotalEnergies
- Fastned
- Tesla Superchargers
- Allego
Local providers in each market supplement these large regional operators. EV optimization and Polestar Charge payment integration within Google Maps help drivers plan charging stops along a route.
The Polestar Charge subscription offers discounted fast charging at more than 80,000 points across 42 operators. The service is available in 16 European markets, including Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the UK.
Service Availability
Polestar Charge is available in all Polestar markets across Europe except Portugal. The subscription service launched in collaboration with Plugsurfing ahead of the first European deliveries of the Polestar 3 and Polestar 4 in March 2024. An enhanced subscription with additional regional and local operators followed in March 2025.
Since 2020, Polestar 2 drivers in Europe have had access to public chargers within the Plugsurfing network with special pricing discounts.
