Porsche Cars North America is recalling certain 2020-2024 Taycan vehicles due to potential high-voltage battery short circuits that could increase the risk of fire. Recall Details

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued two recalls for Porsche Taycan vehicles concerning a potential short circuit in the high-voltage battery modules. The affected vehicles include certain 2020-2023 and 2021-2024 Taycan models, totaling 27,720 units.

Porsche will replace the battery modules in affected vehicles and install advanced diagnostic software as part of the solution. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on November 29, 2024. The recall expands on and replaces prior recalls numbered 23V-840, 24V-215, and 24V-217.

For owners, it is recommended to only charge their vehicles to a maximum of 80% of battery capacity until the new remedy is implemented. Porsche is also monitoring vehicle data to determine the appropriate steps for each affected car, ensuring timely communication to owners.
