Subaru has released details for the redesigned 2026 Solterra, the brand’s all-electric SUV. The updated model features significant enhancements, including increased power, extended driving range, and the introduction of a high-performance Solterra XT model. The 2026 Solterra will arrive at retailers this fall, maintaining the same starting price as the outgoing model.

- Upgraded Technology: A new 14-inch Subaru Multimedia System with wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ is now standard across all trims.

Performance and Range Upgrades
The 2026 Subaru Solterra EV is available in four trim levels: Premium, Limited, Limited XT, and Touring XT. For 2026, the new Solterra XT trims feature powerful electric motors on the front and rear axles, delivering a combined output of 338 horsepower. The Solterra Premium and Limited trims also see a power increase, now producing a total of 233 horsepower.
All models are equipped with a new, larger 74.7-kWh lithium-ion battery, enabling a driving range of up to 288 miles. The charging system has been enhanced with an improved battery preconditioning system for optimal performance, especially in colder climates. The vehicle supports DC fast-charging speeds up to 150 kW and includes an upgraded 11 kW onboard charger for faster home charging. All 2026 Solterra models feature a North American Charging Standard (NACS) port, providing access to over 15,000 charging stations across the country.
Enhanced Platform and Design
The 2026 Solterra is built on a new platform with enhanced body rigidity and improved sound insulation for a quieter ride. The all-wheel-drive system has been updated for better on- and off-road performance, complemented by the standard X-MODE® Dual-Mode System with Snow/Dirt and Deep Snow/Mud modes. With 8.3 inches of ground clearance, the Solterra offers genuine off-road capability.
Exterior updates include a new Subaru EV lighting signature with an illuminated six-star logo, redesigned headlamps, a new front bumper, and new 18- and 20-inch wheel designs. The rear features a new badge and garnish, while a redesigned rear spoiler improves aerodynamics.
Upgraded Technology and Interior
Inside, the 2026 Solterra features a standard 14-inch Subaru Multimedia touchscreen display on all trim levels. The system includes wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility. For charging personal devices, the cabin is equipped with dual USB-C ports for front and rear passengers, as well as dual 15-watt wireless smartphone chargers up front.
Every Solterra comes standard with Subaru’s EyeSight® driver-assistance technology. This suite includes advanced safety features such as Emergency Steering Assist, Front Cross-Traffic Alert, Hands-Free Low Speed Driving, DriverFocus® Distraction Mitigation System, and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control.
2026 Solterra Trim Levels and Pricing
Solterra Premium: Starting at $38,495 MSRP, the Premium trim includes Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, 18-inch alloy wheels, heated front seats, a 10-way power driver’s seat, and a power rear liftgate.
Solterra Limited and Limited XT: The Limited trim, starting at $41,395 MSRP ($600 less than the previous model), adds 20-inch alloy wheels, heated rear seats, a 360-degree heated steering wheel, a Harman Kardon® premium audio system, and automatic parking assist. For $42,895 MSRP, the Solterra Limited XT includes the upgraded 338-horsepower powertrain.
Solterra Touring XT: At the top of the lineup, the Touring XT starts at $45,555 MSRP. It adds a panoramic glass roof, ventilated front seats, a digital rearview mirror, and the option for two-tone paint configurations.
With the purchase or lease of a new 2026 Solterra, customers will also receive up to 10 days of complimentary vehicle rentals through the Subaru Just Drive Rental program at participating retailers.
