The Range Rover Electric has shown its strength by completing a second successful winter testing season in the Arctic Circle. Facing extreme cold and tough terrains in Arjeplog, Sweden, this electric SUV highlighted its cutting-edge features. It’s setting a high bar for luxury electric vehicles with its performance and advanced technology.

Key Highlights:

  • Successful completion of second winter testing season in the Arctic Circle
  • Advanced ThermAssistTM technology optimizes range and charging in extreme cold
  • Single pedal driving capability proven on challenging surfaces
  • All-terrain performance maintained with electric propulsion

The testing focused on the vehicle’s thermal management system, featuring the innovative ThermAssistTM technology. This system cuts heating energy use by up to 40%, keeping the range and charging ability strong even in temperatures as low as -10°C. It recycles heat to warm the cabin or propulsion system, ensuring efficiency in freezing conditions.

Another standout is the single pedal driving feature, which lets drivers control the SUV with just the accelerator pedal. This proved effective on icy and snowy surfaces, stopping the vehicle smoothly and holding it steady on hills without touching the brakes. It’s a game-changer for driving in low-grip situations.

The Range Rover Electric also kept its famous all-terrain ability. Its switchable twin-chamber air suspension adjusts to handle the electric model’s unique weight, delivering a smooth ride on any surface. Paired with a powerful 800V battery built by JLR, it offers top-notch range and fast charging.

Thomas Müller, JLR’s Executive Director of Product Engineering, said, “Our second winter season in the Arctic Circle has provided the perfect opportunity for us to put our new ThermAssistTM technology to the test, and it has surpassed our expectations.”

Next, the Range Rover Electric will continue its tough testing program before customers can reserve it.
