The Renault 5 E-Tech aims to offer affordable electric driving while maintaining the fun and distinctive design that made the original Renault 5 iconic. Customers can choose between two powertrains: a 120hp motor paired with a 40kWh battery providing a 190-mile range, or a more powerful 150hp motor paired with a 52kWh battery that can achieve a range of 248 miles. Both versions are equipped with the latest Google-built-in services, EV-optimized navigation, and bi-directional Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality.
The range features three trims—evolution, techno, and iconic five. Each trim comes with unique features and styling to cater to a variety of customers. For example, the techno trim includes an enhanced 10-inch digital driver display, adaptive cruise control with stop & go, and multi-sense driving modes. The iconic five trim goes even further, adding heated steering and heated front seats with lumbar adjustment, as well as enhanced driver safety features like blind spot warning and rear occupant safety alert.
This model introduces several innovations that are new to Renault vehicles, such as the bonnet-mounted charging indicator and an interior designed with sustainability in mind, featuring recycled materials and unique denim upholstery in techno trims. The vehicle also offers a two-tone Diamond Black roof option for a premium aesthetic.
The Renault 5 E-Tech is designed for practicality as well as fun, with a 326-liter boot that includes dedicated storage for charging cables. Its lightweight build and agile handling make it ideal for urban environments, while the electric powertrain offers a smooth, zero-emission ride. The car can be recharged to 80% in as little as 30 minutes when using a DC rapid charger.
Renault has equipped the vehicle with up to 25 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), some of which are typically only found in segments above. These include features such as adaptive cruise control, lane centering assist, blind spot monitoring, and hands-free parking. Additionally, My Safety Shield is a new feature allowing drivers to easily activate their preferred safety systems at the push of a button.
Customers interested in being among the first to own the Renault 5 E-Tech can now purchase an R-Pass to secure their place at the front of the queue for when deliveries begin in Spring 2025. Demonstrators are expected in Renault showrooms from March 2025, offering potential buyers an opportunity to experience the vehicle firsthand.
