Leadership Transition After Record Year
The appointment follows a strong 2025 for Rimac Technology. During that period, the company delivered tens of thousands of battery and powertrain systems to customers worldwide. In addition, it secured multiple new programs with leading automotive manufacturers.
“Nurdin has proven himself as an exceptional leader during his time as COO,” said Mate Rimac, founder of Rimac Technology and president of Rimac Group. He added that Pitarević combines operational expertise with strategic thinking.
Rimac also noted that both Pitarević and Brkljačić helped transform the company. They guided its evolution from a niche supplier into a trusted Tier 1 partner.
Strategic Roadmap Through 2030
Pitarević joined Rimac Technology from one of Europe’s largest Tier 1 suppliers. Since then, he has led the company through rapid industrialization and operational scale-up. Under his leadership, Rimac Technology transitioned multiple programs into series production. Those efforts met stringent automotive quality standards.
As CEO, Pitarević will oversee a strategic roadmap centered on several priorities:
- Advanced electrification technologies for battery systems and e-axles
- AI-enabled and digitalized operations across production
- Sustainable industrial growth with robust financial structures
- Next-generation solid-state battery cells developed with a global technology partner
“Our focus is on building a technology leader that scales responsibly,” Pitarević said. He emphasized a commitment to innovation, sustainability, and long-term profitability.
New COO Brings Digital Transformation Experience
Brkljačić brings extensive experience in operations, digital transformation, and strategic execution. Before his appointment, he served as deputy COO at Rimac Technology. He also held senior leadership positions at Tokić Ltd and multiple roles at Rimac Automobili. Those roles included head of strategic projects and chief of staff.
“Our focus is on ensuring consistent execution and empowered teams,” Brkljačić said. He stressed the importance of systems that support repeatable success across all programs.
Strong Momentum Entering 2026
Rimac Technology’s Croatian campus operates at full capacity across multiple shifts. Five new production lines are already underway. The company expects to complete them within the next two years. Meanwhile, it is in advanced discussions with several OEMs on new programs. Those programs span both pure electric and hybrid powertrains.
The company continues to differentiate itself through fast development cycles and industrial-scale execution. Its performance credentials include the Nevera hypercar and Bugatti Tourbillon. Furthermore, Rimac Technology has announced partnerships with BMW Group and Ceer Motors. Several additional mid-to-high-volume OEM programs are under contract or development.
