Rivian has detailed the full trim lineup and pricing for the R2, its mid-size electric SUV. The Performance trim with Launch Package starts at $57,990, with deliveries beginning spring 2026. Premium configurations follow in late 2026, and Standard trims arrive through 2027, with an entry point starting around $45,000.
Highlights
- Three trims span $45,000 to $57,990: The R2 Performance delivers 656 hp and 0–60 mph in 3.6 seconds; the Premium offers 450 hp with dual-motor AWD; the Standard starts at $48,490 with 345 miles of estimated range.
- Native NACS charging and Autonomy+ hardware: All R2 trims include a native NACS port for Supercharger access, plus built-in hardware for Rivian’s L2+ hands-free driving system.
- Spring 2026 production launch: The R2 Performance with Launch Package ships first, followed by Premium in late 2026 and Standard in the first half of 2027.
- Nearly 2,000 lbs lighter than R1: The smaller platform offers 9.6 inches of ground clearance, a 25° approach angle, and 90.1 cubic feet of total enclosed storage.
Performance Trim Leads the Lineup
The R2 Performance debuts as the flagship variant. Its dual-motor AWD powertrain produces 656 hp and 609 lb-ft of torque. Rivian quotes a 0–60 mph time of 3.6 seconds and a 50–70 mph sprint in 1.55 seconds. EPA-estimated range reaches up to 330 miles.
Standard equipment on the Performance includes semi-active suspension, Matrix LED headlights with adaptive high beams, heated and ventilated front seats, and a 975W premium audio system with 13 speaker elements. Drive modes include All-Purpose, Conserve, Snow, All-Terrain, Rally, Soft Sand, Sport, and Launch Mode.
The limited-edition Launch Package adds lifetime Autonomy+ access, a tow package rated at 4,400 lbs, and an exclusive Launch Green exterior color option.

Premium and Standard Trims Expand Access
The R2 Premium starts at $53,990 and shares the dual-motor AWD layout. However, output drops to 450 hp and 537 lb-ft of torque. The 0–60 time is 4.6 seconds, and EPA-estimated range holds at 330 miles. Equipment largely mirrors the Performance trim, minus the semi-active suspension and Rally/Soft Sand/Launch drive modes.
The R2 Standard opens at $48,490 with a single-motor RWD Long Range setup. It produces 350 hp and 355 lb-ft of torque, reaching 60 mph in 5.9 seconds. Rivian estimates range at up to 345 miles. A dual-motor AWD upgrade with 450 hp is optional.
An additional Standard variant is planned for late 2027. It will start around $45,000 and offer an estimated 275+ miles of range. Further details are expected closer to production.
Design, Colors, and Interior Options
Rivian introduced three new exterior colors for the R2:
- Catalina Cove: A metallic finish shifting from blue to green tones, exclusive to R2
- Esker Silver: A shimmering silver with fine metallic flakes
- Half Moon Grey: A warm metallic grey inspired by coastal cliff tones
These join existing options including Midnight, Glacier White, Forest Green, and Borealis. Wheel choices range from 19-inch to 21-inch configurations, all sharing a 32-inch overall diameter.
Interior options include two signature environments for Performance and Premium trims. Black Crater Signature features upcycled Birch wood with dark volcanic-inspired tones. Coastal Cloud Signature uses lighter coastal tones with the same Birch wood accents. The Standard trim receives a simplified Black Crater interior.
Technology and Driver Assistance
The R2 is built on what Rivian describes as an AI-ready architecture with 5G connectivity and offline-capable processing. The perception stack includes 11 HDR cameras with a combined 65 megapixels and a five-radar system.
Rivian Autonomy+ hardware comes standard on all trims. The service runs $49.99 per month or $2,500 as a one-time fee. It provides L2+ hands-free assisted driving on 3.5 million miles of mapped roads in the U.S. and Canada. All new R2 deliveries include a 60-day trial.
“R2 embodies so many of our learnings that we have accumulated—the passion and attention to detail from our team is visible everywhere,” said RJ Scaringe, Founder and CEO of Rivian. “Thank you to all the teams across Rivian who poured their energy into bringing this incredible vehicle to life. I couldn’t be more excited.”
Additional technology features include haptic steering wheel dials, dual digital displays, and 200 sparse TOPS of edge AI compute for the in-cabin experience. Rivian also confirmed a forthcoming in-vehicle voice assistant capable of running complex tasks locally.
