RIZON, Daimler Truck’s newest all-electric vehicle brand, has officially handed over its first e18L electric dump truck in Canada to Villamar Construction in Victoria, British Columbia. This marks a significant milestone in the company’s push toward zero-emission commercial transportation. Over the coming weeks, 18 additional RIZON trucks will be delivered to customers across British Columbia and Quebec, including municipalities, rental and leasing providers, and freight and logistics companies.

Key Highlights:

  • RIZON’s first e18L electric dump truck delivered to Villamar Construction for use in custom home-building projects.
  • 18 more RIZON trucks—including dry box, service body, and landscape dump configurations—to be handed over in the coming weeks.
  • Customers include municipalities, rental and leasing providers, and logistics companies.
  • RIZON trucks qualify for up to $75,000 CAD in federal and provincial incentives under the iMHZEV Program.
  • RIZON’s dealer network spans British Columbia, Ontario, and Quebec, with plans for further expansion.

Expanding Zero-emission Commercial Trucking in Canada

The introduction of RIZON’s medium-duty electric trucks aligns with Canada’s commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. The federal iMHZEV incentive program, which has been active since 2022, offers businesses up to $75,000 CAD per truck at the point of sale, with additional provincial incentives available in British Columbia.

“With this handover, RIZON is bringing zero-emission commercial vehicles into everyday operations for Canadian businesses,” said Andreas Deuschle, Global Head of RIZON Truck. “Commercial EVs are no longer a future concept—they are here, hitting the road and serving communities.”

Versatile and Built for Canadian Conditions

RIZON trucks are available in four model variants—e16L, e16M, e18L, and e18M—with gross vehicle weights ranging from 15,995 to 18,850 pounds. Featuring a range of up to 257 km on a single charge, DC Fast Charging (CCS1) and Level 2 AC Charging (J1772) compatibility, and advanced safety technologies such as Active Brake Assist and Active Side Guard Assist, RIZON trucks offer a reliable and sustainable solution for commercial fleets.

Optimized for Cold Weather and Fleet Integration

Designed for Canadian climate conditions, RIZON trucks include electric preconditioning for optimal battery performance in cold weather and heated driver comfort features such as a heated seat, steering wheel, and windshield. Additionally, the trucks are equipped with electric power take-off (ePTO) technology, allowing for reefer belt drives and hydraulic pumps for specialized applications.

A Strong Foundation with Daimler Truck Expertise

Backed by Daimler Truck’s 12 million kilometers of electric driving experience, RIZON trucks integrate proprietary connectivity services (RIZONCONNECT), comprehensive warranties, and financing support from Daimler Truck Financial Services.

RIZON trucks are exclusively distributed in Canada by RIZON Truck Canada, a subsidiary of Velocity Vehicle Group, a leading commercial truck dealership network with extensive experience in electric truck solutions.
