The SANY 408P electric mixer truck, developed by China’s SANY Group, has successfully passed the updated EU General Safety Regulation (GSR) standards. This milestone marks it as the first Chinese electric engineering vehicle to obtain the latest Whole Vehicle Type-Approval (WVTA) certificate, reinforcing SANY’s position in the global market.
Key Highlights:
- Advanced ADAS: Equipped with a highly adaptable and expandable driver-assistance system developed by Haistar.
- GSR Certification: Obtained five key GSR regulations, enhancing its market entry in the European Union.
- Test Supervision: Certified by TÜV Rheinland, ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance with EU standards.
- Innovative Features: Includes Moving Off Information System (MOIS), Blind Spot Information System (BSIS), Reversing Information System (REIS), Intelligent Speed Assist (ISA), and Driver Drowsiness & Alertness Warning (DDAW).
The EU GSR, launched in 2019, aims to enhance the protection of vehicle occupants and vulnerable road users, reducing traffic accidents and casualties by enforcing higher safety levels in vehicles. The latest update, effective July 2024, mandates all commercial vehicles in the EU to have appropriate ADAS functionality.
SANY’s 408P electric mixer truck successfully passed five GSR ADAS features:
- Moving Off Information System (MOIS): Monitors and informs the driver of pedestrians and cyclists in the vehicle’s front proximity blind spot.
- Blind Spot Information System (BSIS): Alerts the driver of collision risks in the right blind spot during turns.
- Reversing Information System (REIS): Assists in parking with real-time reversing video screens.
- Intelligent Speed Assist (ISA): Alerts the driver to slow down when speeding is detected, with a single-scenario recognition accuracy above 90% and an overall accuracy of 96% after 6,000 km of on-road testing across 10 EU countries.
- Driver Drowsiness & Alertness Warning (DDAW): Monitors the driver’s facial features, eye motions, and head movements to detect fatigue and send alerts.
“Looking ahead, SANY will push forward to develop our international markets, empowering advancements in digital intelligence, and promoting low-carbon operations to provide high-quality, safe, more reliable, and more intelligent products to global customers,” said Yu Hongfu, president of SANY Heavy Industry.
The successful certification of the SANY 408P electric mixer truck is a significant achievement, demonstrating SANY’s commitment to innovation, safety, and global market expansion.
