SAS EuroBonus Adds E.ON Drive EV Charging in Sweden, Denmark

SAS EuroBonus members in Sweden and Denmark can now earn loyalty points for EV charging sessions at E.ON Drive Infrastructure's public network, marking EuroBonus's first EV charging partnership.

Scandinavian carrier SAS and charge point operator E.ON Drive Infrastructure have launched a loyalty-program tie-up that lets EuroBonus members in Sweden and Denmark earn points for public EV charging sessions. The deal, announced by SAS on April 14, is the first EV charging partnership inside the EuroBonus program and links everyday charging activity to airline travel benefits across Scandinavia.

Highlights

  • EuroBonus members in Sweden and Denmark earn points automatically when charging at E.ON Drive stations of 50 kW or higher
  • Points rate is 50 per 100 SEK (~$10.91) in Sweden and 30 per 100 DKK (~$15.73) in Denmark
  • Points are redeemable for flights, upgrades, hotels, car rental, and other EuroBonus benefits
  • E.ON Drive says all charging on its network runs on 100% certified renewable energy

How the Points Structure Works

Members earn points on any charging session paid for with a payment card linked to their EuroBonus account, provided the station has a minimum output of 50 kW. The earn rate is set at 50 points per 100 SEK (approximately $10.91) in Sweden and 30 points per 100 DKK (approximately $15.73) in Denmark.

In Denmark, members can also earn points when paying through the E.ON Drive Public app, as long as the registered card is tied to their EuroBonus account. Points post automatically to member accounts and can be redeemed against flights, seat upgrades, hotel stays, car rentals, and the wider EuroBonus catalog. No additional sign-up step is required beyond linking a payment card.

E.ON’s Nordic Charging Footprint

E.ON Drive Infrastructure operates one of Denmark’s largest public charging networks, along with a growing footprint in Sweden that spans ultra-fast motorway sites and urban charging points. The Nordic network has expanded in recent years through partnerships including a joint ultra-fast hub at Lillebælt with PowerGo, which added 44 charging points along Denmark’s E20 highway.

Sweden and Denmark remain two of Europe’s most developed EV markets by adoption rate, and the EuroBonus tie-up places E.ON Drive chargers alongside flights, hotels, and car rental as an everyday earning channel for one of Scandinavia’s largest loyalty programs.

Executive Commentary

Madeleine Svantesson, Head of EuroBonus Partners at SAS, said: “This partnership is a further step in our ambition to develop EuroBonus and strengthen the program’s relevance in our members’ everyday lives. By enabling seamless point earning at EV charging stations, we are integrating sustainable mobility into our offering and making it even easier to combine climate-smart choices with attractive benefits. It feels both inspiring and entirely in line with the direction we are heading.”

Marie Feuk, Regional Director Nordics at E.ON Drive Infrastructure, added: “Sweden and Denmark are among Europe’s most engaged EV markets, and SAS EuroBonus is one of Scandinavia’s most trusted loyalty programs. Bringing the two together feels like a genuinely Nordic moment, where the infrastructure for sustainable travel meets the loyalty ecosystem that millions of travelers already know and trust.”

Loyalty Programs Move Into EV Charging

The partnership lands at a moment when loyalty and rewards programs are increasingly extending into EV charging activity across Europe, often through smart charging or partner-network tie-ups. SAS noted the deal comes in the carrier’s 80th year of Scandinavian operations. E.ON Drive states that every charge on its network is powered by certified renewable energy.
