Concept Vehicle Updates and Capabilities

The Scout Traveler and Scout Terra were redesigned since their October 2024 debut to demonstrate versatility across different use cases. Both vehicles target makers and explorers throughout California and all 50 states, whether commuting, off-roading, or hauling equipment.

The Traveler concept features Pacific Mist exterior paint with Brick Red leather interior accented by denim-inspired fabric. Equipment includes a black Cabana Top for open-air driving, 35-inch tires mounted on 22-inch “Vault” brushed anodized wheels, raised roof rails, and a concept “Backpack” accessory box with integrated lower drawer.

The interior features a textured headliner inspired by burlap fabric in tan, gray, and brown tones complementing Terracotta leather accents.

Vehicle Architecture and Technology

The Scout Traveler and Terra utilize body-on-frame chassis construction with solid rear axle and four-wheel drive. Available front and rear mechanical locking differentials enhance off-road performance. Vehicle software operates on modern zonal architecture enabling over-the-air updates and remote diagnostics.

Scout Motors will offer two powertrain options. Fully electric models provide up to 350 miles of range. Extended range variants incorporate the Harvester range extender, a built-in gas-powered engine that recharges the battery to deliver over 500 miles of combined range.

Auto Show Experience and Activities

Scout Motors created interactive experiences for Los Angeles Auto Show attendees. Field School operates Thursday through Sunday each week, offering hands-on activities including emergency glovebox kit assembly, sun printing/cyanotype using natural objects, and customization stations for Scout hats and tote bags. Participants retain items created at the display.

Tailgate Sessions feature local Los Angeles musicians and DJs providing entertainment throughout the show. Heritage Scout vehicles from the original 1961-1980 production run are displayed to celebrate the brand’s history.

Manufacturing and Sales Network

Scott Keogh, President and CEO of Scout Motors, stated the company is designing vehicles to deliver credible capability for work and play, bold design, modern innovation, and tactile user experience. Initial production is targeted to begin in 2027 at the Scout Motors Production Center in Blythewood, South Carolina.

An accessories center is under construction adjacent to the manufacturing facility where customer vehicles can be upfitted with accessories at production time. Scout Motors will establish an exclusive sales and service network providing direct-to-consumer sales with a customer-first approach.

The company previously announced entry model pricing starting under $60,000 for both Traveler and Terra vehicles.
