Scout Motors has unveiled the Scout Traveler SUV and Scout Terra truck production-intent concept vehicles, marking a significant return for the iconic brand. Designed in Michigan and set to be manufactured in South Carolina, these rugged vehicles emphasize both off-road adventure and versatile utility. Featuring body-on-frame construction, solid rear axles, and cutting-edge electric drive technology, the Traveler and Terra promise robust performance, modern features, and a nod to Scout’s historic roots.

Scout Motors aims to honor the spirit of the original Scout vehicles with rugged, versatile designs that reflect American ingenuity. The Traveler SUV and Terra truck are built on a proprietary body-on-frame platform, engineered to provide credible off-road capability and towing capacity. The Terra will feature a towing capacity of over 10,000 pounds, while the Traveler offers over 7,000 pounds, with both models capable of carrying nearly 2,000 pounds of payload.

Customers will have the choice of fully electric models or range-extended variants, providing up to 500 miles of range through a built-in gas generator. The electric drive systems are designed to ensure Scout’s off-road prowess, while the modern software architecture supports over-the-air updates and improved user experiences.

The Scout Terra features a 5.5-foot pickup bed with multiple power outlets, while the Traveler’s split tailgate offers easy cargo access. Both vehicles boast a bold, iconic design, emphasizing durable materials and functional spaces. A one-to-one customer relationship will be established through Scout’s exclusive retail network, offering transparent pricing and seamless interactions.

Reservations for the Scout Traveler and Scout Terra opened on October 24, 2024, with starting prices below $60,000, making these vehicles accessible for those seeking adventure and utility.
