Škoda Auto has released the first interior sketches of its upcoming all-electric Epiq compact SUV crossover and confirmed the production model will make its world premiere in Zurich at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, 19 May 2026. The reveal, announced on the company’s Storyboard press portal, positions the Epiq as the brand’s first series-production model to fully implement Škoda’s Modern Solid design language across both exterior and cabin.
Highlights
- World premiere date: 2 p.m. local time on 19 May 2026 in Zurich, Switzerland
- First full Modern Solid application: Epiq becomes Škoda’s first series-production model to fully incorporate the design language inside and out
- Portfolio role: Cornerstone of Škoda’s plan to double its battery-electric vehicle portfolio in 2026
- Platform context: Follows the previously detailed MEB+ small-EV architecture with three powertrain variants and up to 267 miles of WLTP range

A Cabin Built Around Horizontal Architecture
According to Škoda, the Epiq’s interior was designed in line with Modern Solid principles from the outset. The first sketches preview a clean, angular cabin oriented around clarity and ease of orientation. A horizontal interior architecture replaces the conventional dashboard layout, which Škoda says enhances the sense of space and openness, while ambient lighting elements are intended to create a welcoming atmosphere.
The brand emphasizes a clearly structured layout for intuitive operation by both driver and passenger. An open storage compartment underlines the cabin’s practicality, and a freestanding center console integrates wireless charging. Sustainable materials are selectively applied across the interior in keeping with Škoda’s Modern Solid approach.
Modern Solid Reaches the Cabin
The Epiq distinction matters in context. Škoda’s Elroq introduced Modern Solid styling on the exterior in 2024, and the design language has since extended to the refreshed Enyaq family. The Epiq is now positioned as the first Škoda production model to apply the language fully — the interior commitment is the new element rather than the design language itself.
The minimalist, angular treatment is intended to reinforce what Škoda describes as the robust character of the design system, carrying through the visual identity established by the Tech-Deck Face front end and T-shaped LED light signature on the exterior.

Strategic Position in the BEV Portfolio
The Epiq is positioned as Škoda’s most affordable all-electric model and is expected to play a key role in the brand’s stated goal of doubling its BEV portfolio in 2026. The compact SUV crossover sits within the European Urban Car Family inside Volkswagen Group’s Brand Group Core, alongside the recently revealed VW ID. Polo and Cupra Raval. Škoda has previously indicated that Epiq pricing in many markets will be comparable to the combustion-engine Kamiq.
The 19 May reveal in Zurich will mark the production debut following the September 2025 show car preview at the IAA in Munich and the camouflaged road testing program seen in early 2026.
