- Slate vehicles gain Tesla Supercharger network access via a standard NACS port.
- RepairPal partnership adds 200+ certified shops for service and accessory installs.
- High-voltage work included at select RepairPal locations.
- Coverage typically within 100 miles of most customers.
Slate, the American EV startup focused on affordable, modular electric trucks, announced two major infrastructure initiatives aimed at improving ownership convenience and service accessibility. The company will adopt the North American Charging Standard (NACS) for direct access to the Tesla Supercharger network, while also partnering with RepairPal to establish a nationwide network of trained independent service centers.

Charging Expansion via NACS Integration
All future Slate trucks will feature a factory-installed NACS inlet, located on the driver’s-side rear, enabling seamless use of Tesla’s fast-growing Supercharger network across North America. This integration removes a key friction point for long-distance EV travel by giving drivers immediate access to the most expansive DC fast-charging infrastructure in the U.S.
The move aligns with the industry-wide standardization on NACS, positioning Slate alongside leading automakers adopting the connector for interoperability and consumer convenience.
Key technical highlights:
- Port type: NACS (North American Charging Standard)
- Location: Driver’s-side rear
- Network compatibility: Tesla Supercharger (DC fast charging)
Nationwide Service Coverage Through RepairPal
In parallel, Slate is launching a comprehensive service and installation program powered by RepairPal’s certified network of independent automotive shops. This collaboration ensures local, high-quality service for Slate owners without requiring a traditional dealership footprint.
More than 200 RepairPal locations are already certified for high-voltage EV repairs, complementing a broader network trained in accessory installation and general maintenance. Customers who prefer to perform their own accessory installs will retain full DIY flexibility, with certified shops available as a support option.

Program details:
- Local installation & maintenance: All RepairPal shops will be trained to handle Slate’s approved procedures.
- High-voltage certification: Over 200 U.S. shops currently certified for EV-specific service.
- Coverage: Most customers within ~100 miles of a qualified service center.
- Warranty: Availability may vary by location; customers should confirm when scheduling service.
Strategic Impact
By pairing open charging access with an accessible service model, Slate is addressing two of the most significant adoption hurdles for new EV brands: charging availability and after-sales support. Together, these initiatives position Slate to compete effectively in a market where customer experience increasingly defines brand loyalty.
