Safety Performance

The smart #5 secured a five-star Euro NCAP rating in September 2025. It posted the highest overall score in the large SUV segment. No model across any vehicle class scored higher in the Child Occupant and Safety Assist testing categories.

Powertrain and Platform

The smart #5 is built on an 800-volt architecture. The drivetrain produces up to 475 kW of power. WLTP-rated range reaches up to 590 km. The vehicle was developed for urban and extra-urban use.

Design and Interior

Mercedes-Benz’s global design team styled the smart #5. Exterior features include a panoramic halo roof, frameless doors, and oblong front and rear lighting. The cabin houses a 10.25-inch full HD digital instrument cluster and two 13-inch OLED screens for the center and passenger positions. An AMD V2000 chipset powers the human-machine interface. Cargo capacity measures 630 liters.

Global Market Expansion

The smart #5 has launched across 17 European markets and in China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, and Morocco. Additional international markets will follow in 2026. UAE availability began February 10.

Smart operates as a joint venture between Mercedes-Benz AG and Zhejiang Geely Holding Group. The brand now spans approximately 40 countries and regions.
