Stellantis Adopts Tesla NACS Charging Standard

Stellantis adopts Tesla's NACS charging standard for select battery-electric vehicles, providing access to 28,000+ Superchargers across North America, Japan and South Korea starting in 2026.

Stellantis has announced the adoption of the North American Charging System (NACS) for select battery-electric vehicles in North America, Japan and South Korea, providing future customers access to more than 28,000 Tesla Supercharger locations across all five countries. The decision expands fast-charging infrastructure availability for Stellantis BEV owners beginning in early 2026.

Highlights

  • Stellantis BEVs will gain access to 28,000+ Tesla Superchargers in North America, Japan and South Korea
  • Network compatibility begins early 2026 in North America, 2027 in Japan and South Korea
  • Initial vehicle lineup includes Jeep Wagoneer S, Dodge Charger Daytona and 2026 Jeep Recon
  • NACS adoption addresses charging infrastructure accessibility for long-distance travel

Network Access Timeline

Tesla Supercharger network availability will launch in 2026 with existing North American BEVs. The initial compatible vehicles include:

  • Jeep Wagoneer S
  • Dodge Charger Daytona
  • 2026 Jeep Recon

Additional Stellantis BEV models will follow the initial rollout. The automaker stated it will provide details on network accessibility and adapter requirements for current BEV models across its brand portfolio at a later date.

Geographic Coverage

The NACS adoption covers five countries across three regions:

  • North America: United States, Canada, Mexico (early 2026)
  • Japan: 2027
  • South Korea: 2027

Strategic Context

The collaboration addresses charging infrastructure limitations that have constrained BEV adoption. By providing access to Tesla’s established Supercharger network, Stellantis aims to reduce range anxiety concerns and enable more practical long-distance travel for its electric vehicle customers.

The move aligns with broader industry standardization around NACS, which multiple automakers have adopted since Tesla opened the connector design in 2022. The charging standard supports DC fast charging at rates compatible with current Stellantis BEV architectures.
