Stellantis N.V. is significantly expanding its production capabilities for electric vehicle (EV) components. The company will add electric drive module (EDM) manufacturing to its Szentgotthard, Hungary facility, joining existing EDM production sites in France and the United States. Additionally, Stellantis’ Mirafiori complex in Italy will increase its output of electrified dual-clutch transmissions (eDCTs).
The approximately €103 million investment in the Szentgotthard plant underscores Stellantis’ dedication to its electrification strategy, outlined in the Dare Forward 2030 strategic plan.

“Bringing production of electric drive modules to Szentgotthard to support our transformation towards electrification is another important part of our goal to provide customers with clean, safe and affordable mobility,” said Arnaud Deboeuf, Stellantis Chief Manufacturing Officer.
Hungary’s Minister Péter Szijjártó commented, “This investment means that Hungary will have a stronger role in helping the automotive industry make its electrification transition. Now, traditional propulsion will be manufactured next to electric drive module production. With this investment, we are protecting jobs and ensuring the future of the Szentgotthárd plant.”
The Szentgotthard facility will produce EDMs for vehicles built on Stellantis’ upcoming STLA EV platform. Current operations at the plant, which include manufacturing internal combustion engines, will continue alongside the new EDM production lines.
Stellantis has committed over €50 billion in electrification investments to support its Dare Forward 2030 goals. These targets include achieving a 100% battery-electric vehicle (BEV) sales mix in Europe and a 50% BEV sales mix in the United States by 2030. The company is also working to secure 400 GWh of battery capacity and plans to become a carbon net-zero corporation by 2038.
