StoreDot, a leader in extreme fast charging (XFC) technology for electric vehicles (EVs), has announced a significant advancement in its ‘100in4’ product roadmap. The company has successfully developed prototype cells that can add 100 miles of range in just 4 minutes, surpassing their previous ‘100in5’ milestone ahead of schedule.

The new silicon-based 100in4 cells show a 10% improvement in energy density over their predecessors, tested under low pressure while preserving StoreDot’s standards for minimal volumetric expansion. These cells have achieved 1100 XFC cycles with a high energy density, projecting an energy density of 340Wh/kg in an EV form factor.

StoreDot is scaling up this technology from a 3Ah cell to a 140Ah version, aiming for mass production readiness in 2026. The company remains on track to produce XFC cells that can deliver 100 miles of charge in 5 minutes in 2024, further reducing this to 4 minutes in 2026, and 3 minutes by 2028.
