Commerce platform and EV charging provider simplify fleet electrification
WEX, a global commerce platform specializing in fleet payment solutions, has partnered with Chargie, a leader in EV charging infrastructure, to enhance operations for electric vehicle (EV) fleets nationwide. This collaboration integrates WEX’s fleet payment and management technology with Chargie’s charging hardware, software, and services, streamlining the transition to electric mobility for commercial and government fleets.
Key Highlights:
- Comprehensive EV Charging Integration – Chargie will continue to design, install, and maintain Level 2 and Level 3 charging solutions, now fully integrated with WEX’s payment platform for seamless transactions.
- Enhanced Fleet Payment Capabilities – WEX charge cards will enable secure, touchless payments, while fleet operators can access real-time transaction data, invoices, and reports for better decision-making.
- Industry Adoption and Growth – A study by WEX and Frost & Sullivan found that 80% of businesses plan to transition at least 25% of their fleets to EVs by 2030, with many setting low-carbon goals for the same timeframe.
- Operational Simplicity – The partnership aims to remove complexity from fleet electrification by providing reliable hardware, best-in-class software, streamlined payments, and 24/7 support.
Jay Collins, SVP & GM, EV & Mobility at WEX, emphasized the significance of the partnership, stating, “Our integration with Chargie marks a significant expansion of our EV network and is a big win for fleet operators.” Chargie CEO Zach Jennings added, “Fleet electrification is not a distant goal – the transition is already well underway, and we’re seeing it across all industries.”
